1. His Birthday

Andrew Serwer was born in Chevy Chase, Maryland on September 16, 1959. He turned 60 years old in the Fall of 2019. He was raised in Washington D.C. and received his education in the area. After he graduated from high school, he continued his education attending Bowdoin College. He graduated with his degree in history from the institution in 1981 in preparation for his career.

2. Andy launched his career in 1984

Serwer was hired to work for Fortune first as a reporter in 1984. He spent time in the field investigating stories and conducting interviews. His work was so impressive that it earned him a promotion to the post of the associate editor with the magazine. He served in this capacity for several years before being promoted to a senior writer for the company from 1995 through 1998. This was a big break in his career.

3. He became famous as a columnist

Andy wrote an online column in 1997. It was called "Street Life" and it followed some of the prolific people on Wall Street and it told their stories. Andy Serwer's name became famous and he was lauded as one of the great writers of his time for the stock market and he was highlighted in an issue of The New Yorker in May of 2000. He had told the stories of Wall Street personalities, and this article paid homage to his tremendous journalistic skills which seemed a fitting repayment. Andy Serwer is credited with the writing of multiple interesting and popular cover stories during his time at Fortune. After Andy Serwer completed his bachelor of arts degree in history from Bowdoin in 1981, he continued his educational endeavors to earn two more advanced degrees. He enrolled in the Business Administration program at Emory University's Goizueta Business School. He graduated with his Master of Business Administration degree in 1984. After completing this degree he enrolled in Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism where he earned a Master of Science degree in 1985. He has a solid educational background.
