This beach sits on the east side of the Chita Peninsula, and it is the nearest beach to Nagoya, where you can go for a swim in the sea. Although it is a manmade beach, this takes nothing away from its beauty. It boasts a large sandy beach, a grassy area, and a barbecue grill to rent. The beach is lined with food stalls, so you can grab a bite to eat. There are also fun activities you can enjoy while you are at the beach, as it has a volleyball court and there are various watersports to enjoy.

It stretches for two kilometers along the coast, and it is lined with more than 30 hotels and clubhouses. A major cleanup of the sea and the beach took place a few years ago, so it is now a great place to spend some time during your vacation. If you are visiting in September, there is a word of warning as it is jellyfish season. Therefore, you should take extra care during that month.

Ono Beach

Ono Beach is allegedly the oldest bathing spot in the world. It is also of historical importance as it was visited by the Tokugawa and Owari clans. Now, this tiny beach is still considered one of the best bathing spots in Japan. The best time to visit is at sunset, as the sun gives water the appearance of being a glowing red pond.

Nishiura Palm Beach

One of the best family-friendly beaches in Nagoya is Nishiura Palm Beach, which is set in a horseshoe harbor. Although the beach’s white sandy area is only small, there are plenty of amenities by the beach, such as food stalls and a shower unit. You can choose to spend your time lying on the beach, take a stroll along the coast, or take a dip in the water.

Nisaki Beach

One of the cleanest beaches in the area is Nisaki Beach, which boasts white sandy beaches and sparkling waters. It is also one of the safest beaches as it is patrolled by lifeguards, and this means it is a popular spot amongst families. There is a small campsite by the beach, so you could spend one night of your vacation camping by the sea.

Deserted Beach

Japan Visitor names Deserted Beach as one of the top beaches in the Nagoya area. Head south from Nagoya along the Chita Peninsula until it juts out into Isla Bay, and this is where you will find Deserted Beach. Along the beach are several restaurants that specialize in dishes made using locally sourced seafood.

Tokoname Rinku Beach Park

If you go to beaches for parties, then head to Tokoname Rinku Beach Park, as this beach is known as the area’s party beach. It is the largest artificial beach in the Tokai area, and it attracts the young party crowd. There is a stretch of manmade sandy beach with coarse sand, and it is recommended to wear footwear. The beach is popular with families as it has a seaside park play area for children to enjoy while their parents sit back and relax. The beach runs between Nakahata and Hiramatsu.
