18. Sumo Sushi (2726 Park St)

This is one of the best places to go in the entire city if you're a big fan of sushi rolls. Their menu is pretty basic, but they also know how to do it very, very well. That being said, you certainly won't regret eating here because the taste of the food is nothing short of spectacular.

17. Fuji Sushi (1950 San Marco Blvd)

One of the best places in town for traditional dishes. There is nothing terribly fancy or innovative about the food, and even the interior of the restaurant is about as basic as it gets. That being said, it's a great place to enjoy lunch or even to grab some takeout for dinner. One thing is certain, you're not likely to have a complaint about the way the food tastes. They definitely make up for their lack of menu options in the quality of the food they prepare.

16. Sushi Cafe (2025 Riverside Ave, #25)

Sushi is the only thing they do and they know how to do it the right way. You can choose some options that have only been prepared shortly beforehand that are available in their display case or you can order and wait for your meal to be prepared. Either way, you won't be disappointed. Grab something quick for lunch on the go or order directly off the menu for a fresh, delicious experience.

15. Yashi Sushi (4820 W Deer Lake Dr)

13. Kaika Teppanyaki Asian Fusion (1012-1 Margaret St)

It doesn't matter if you love sushi or if you're more in tune with other hibachi dishes, this is a fun place to be. You can watch your meal being prepared right before your eyes and the entire atmosphere is both lively and strangely comforting at the same time. 12. Sushi Factory (7159 Philips Hwy, #3)

This great, unassuming little place offers some of the best sushi you'll ever eat as well as other Japanese staples such as teriyaki and fried rice. They don't deliver, but their food is so good that you won't mind having to get out and go get it yourself. Say you love sushi but someone else in your group isn't so fond of it. There is enough variety here for everyone, so that won't be a problem.

9. Sushiko Japanese Restaurant (3620 St Johns Ave)

What if you love sushi, and you also want to take someone out on a more intimate evening? This is the perfect place to visit because it offers exactly that type of atmosphere with a great menu and it's not terribly expensive. As far as the atmosphere itself is concerned, it's both intimate and very relaxed so you never have to worry about it feeling too upscale or uncomfortable. They have basic sushi options as well as a few things that you probably wouldn't expect to find at most restaurants. They also have several hibachi items on their menu, so you shouldn't have trouble finding exactly what you're hungry for, no matter what it is. Since this is a more intimate dining experience, it's considered good form to dress business casual.

8. Yummy Sushi (4372 Southside Blvd, #207-208)

At first glance, this might seem like one of the most underrated sushi restaurants in the city. Locals know that it's worth ordering there, even though the restaurant itself is so humble that it's easy to overlook. As a matter of fact, there are hundreds of online reviews that repeatedly give this place between four and five stars. You won't find a lot of eccentric items on their menu, as they serve very basic sushi items along with several grilled Japanese menu options. That being said, the food is outstanding and it's relatively affordable.

7. Sushi House (9810 Baymeadows Rd, #10)

This restaurant is actually located in the Bay Meadows Shopping Center, making it easily accessible for people who need to visit one of the other shops. It's definitely worth eating at. For starters, it's affordable but the food never tastes like you're eating at some discount restaurant. As a matter of fact, quite the opposite is true. They have all kinds of sushi rolls, traditional noodle dishes and the like and it's all served in one of the most casual environments that you could ever imagine. There is no dress code, so pop in and enjoy whenever it's convenient.

6. Miya Sushi (10550 Old St Augustine Rd, #2)

Sometimes you just want a no-nonsense location where you can get what you want, pay a fair price, and get back to the house. It doesn't matter if you want to order takeout or if you plan on dining inside, this is the place to do exactly that. The food is affordable, it's delicious and it's about as basic and unassuming as you could get without compromising quality.

5. Sweet Sushi & Grill (14965 Old St Augustine Rd, #124)

They don't exactly offer a lot in the way of extravagant options here, but they do have some of the most delicious basic sushi menu options in the whole city. That's why they're routinely rated at 4.9 out of 5 stars. You can enjoy dining in or get your food to go. They don't offer delivery, but they do offer great food at a price that won't break the bank.

4. Fancy Sushi (7083 Collins Rd, #102)

You shouldn't let the name of this one fool you. They may be called Fancy Sushi, but they offer a number of basic sushi options with a few more interesting creations. They're certainly not the most flamboyant restaurant on this list, but they definitely know how to make good sushi. They're also not the most cost-effective restaurant on the list, but they're not extravagantly expensive, either. If you're looking for good food that holds true to Japanese traditions without being prohibitively expensive, this is a good place to start.

3. Okinawa Japanese Grillhouse & Sushi Bar (4403 Roosevelt Blvd)

This is a great one for anyone who's looking for a sushi restaurant where they can comfortably take the kids. They have all kinds of menu options here ranging from sushi to fully cooked menu items. There's even a full hibachi menu and you can watch the food being prepared right before your eyes, as you sit at your table. Again, this is a kid-friendly location so you can dress casually and be right at home.

2. Rainbow Sushi Japanese Restaurant (12620 Beach Blvd, #19)

There are a couple of things that make this restaurant truly stand out. First and foremost, their food is of the highest quality. You can enjoy takeout or delivery, but if you decide to dine in it becomes an all-you-can-eat restaurant for what most people would consider to be more than a fair price. Truth be told, you can eat as much as you want for a fraction of the price it would cost you to get a single menu option in a lot of other restaurants. This is a super-casual eatery where you can just be yourself.

1. Kazu Japanese Restaurant (9965 San Jose Blvd, #35)

This place usually has some of the more interesting sushi options that you're likely to find at any restaurant. They have a definite flair for the artistic and they have a tendency to make art out of their sushi creations as much as anything else. Have you ever seen a dragon made out of sushi? That's exactly the type of thing you can expect here. They also have a full Japanese menu to complement their exclusive and creative sushi bar, along with a traditional spirits bar and even a full wine list. Since it's more artistic in nature, they would prefer if you would dress a little more upscale for your experience. Business casual will work just fine.
