An Easy Guide on How to Cancel HelloFresh

Hello Fresh

If you're like so many other people trying to make the most of things these days, you might think it's a good idea to look into a meal kit service such as HelloFresh. After all, people talk about the company all the time. A lot of that probably has something to do with the fact that at one time, they were practically the only meal delivery service available.

The Evolution of Meal Kit Services

These days, you can still get meals delivered, but it's not exactly the cheapest service out there. As a result, you may find yourself trying the service and then being less than impressed with what they have to offer. As such, it only stands to reason that you would eventually want to cancel such a service, provided you're not happy with what you're getting. The question is, how are you supposed to do that? As a matter of fact, a lot of people have tried to cancel their subscriptions to HelloFresh in the past, with little or no luck. Is this the company’s fault or is it something that customers are overlooking? As it turns out, it's not quite as difficult as you might think, but it isn't completely easy, either. Like a lot of other companies that want your credit card information, it's designed in such a way that they're capable of retaining the greatest number of customers possible. If you're only mildly annoyed, then you'll probably go ahead and let them keep deducting money from your account each and every month. If the idea of that annoys you in and of itself, then it's time to figure out what you need to do in order to make sure that you can cancel your subscription anytime you want to.

How Does It Work?

If you're wondering exactly how this particular meal kit delivery service works, you're not alone. As it turns out, there are a number of different tiers that you can choose, ranging from the types of meals you want to have delivered to the number of people that each meal needs to be capable of serving. Obviously, all of this is going to affect the amount of money that you're required to spend on a monthly basis. After all, filet mignon is a lot more expensive than ground beef. That said, subscribing to services like these can eliminate the problems that so many people are experiencing when they go to the supermarket. More specifically, it’s about experiencing a level of convenience that you might not otherwise be able to enjoy. Fortunately, it's not that difficult to cancel if you’re not truly satisfied. The company even ensures that you can cancel your membership with them anytime you want to without any hassle. The thing is, you have to cancel that membership a minimum of five business days before your next food delivery is scheduled. In other words, you can cancel at any time but if you cancel less than five days from your next delivery, that particular delivery will be brought to your door and you will be charged for it. Clearly, this isn't something that tends to sit well with a lot of individuals. As such, there have even been rumblings on various social media platforms that the company is trying to cheat people out of their money. Rest assured, that's not the case. The company very clearly states that you have to cancel more than five days before your next scheduled delivery or it will be delivered as it was originally intended, along with and including the charges for doing so.

It’s a Process

Something that tends to frustrate a lot of individuals who have subscribed to the service is that it can be a bit of a process to actually cancel it. Fortunately, it's not too difficult. The first thing you need to do is get to your laptop, tablet or even your smartphone. Next, log on to your account. When you do, you'll see a name appear in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. Click on it and then look for a drop down menu to appear. You’ll want to click on the one that says “account settings”. Next, find the page that has all of the options for different meal plans on it and start scrolling through until you find a section that allows you to cancel your subscription. If you look closely, there is a status section that you can click on which has all of this information available. As a matter of fact, if you click on it, you'll be given a number of prompts that will walk you through the cancellation process. Be sure to complete each one of them fully. Then and only then will you receive a confirmation that you've actually canceled your subscription successfully.

What About Renewing?

It’s definitely worth noting that if you made the decision to cancel the subscription, it doesn't mean that you can never go back. As a matter of fact, some people make the decision to simply pause their subscription for a week or two and then go back to meal deliveries as usual. Rest assured, if that's what you decide to do, you can opt to merely pause the subscription and then set the amount of time that you would like it to be in that state before it returns to normal. All of this can be done on the same page as a cancellation. Even if you cancel the subscription outright, you can always go back, provide your login information and select the option to reactivate it. Therefore, all is not lost if you cancel and then decide that doing so was a mistake later on. You won't be forced to re-enter all of your information again as if you are a brand new customer. These types of meal kit delivery services can be a huge help for someone who is just too busy to go to the supermarket, buy ingredients one by one and then come home and follow an arduous recipe. That said, it's important to do your research and make sure that you're choosing the one that works best for you.
