10 Things You Didn’t Know about CBRE Group CEO Robert Sulentic

Robert Sulentic is the CEO of the CBE Group. He was appointed to this leadership role in December of 2012. It’s not an easy task to lead the largest real estate and investment services firm in the world, but he does it with precision and skill The company’s revenues for 2017 were estimated at $142 billion. We looked into Mr. Sulentic’s history and made some interesting discoveries that merit sharing. Here are 10 things about Robert Sulentic that you probably didn’t know.

1. He started in real estate in 1984

Robert Sulentic began his very successful career in the real estate industry as an Industrial Leasing Agent in 1984. His first job in the real estate business was with the Trammell Crow Company. The business is based in Houston, Texas. He worked his way up through the company and stayed there for 23 years. Robert was promoted on a fairly regular schedule and went from his first position to Project Partner, then Divisional partner. He was then promoted to Managing Director and eventually Chief Financial Officer. He became the President of Trammell Crow Company in 2000 and Chairman of the Board in 2002.

2. He was with the company that merged with CBRE

Mr. Sulentic had made an excellent and long career with Trammell Crow Company. When they merged with CBRE, he was one of the executives who was retained when the merger completed in 2006. In addition to being their CEO, he is also a member of the Board of Directors and the Global Operating Committee.

3. Robert Sulentic is a Harvard Graduate

When Robert began his education it was at Iowa State University. He studied computer science and earned his B.A. in that discipline. He went on to attend the Harvard Business School and received his M.B.A. from the prestigious school.

4. His family established a charitable foundation

The Sulentic Family Foundation supports numerous charities. On of them is the Heroes and Horses in Montana organization. The group matches combat veterans who are experiencing mental health problems with horses. They also match these veterans with canine companions and service animals to help them in gaining more independence.

5. Sulentic and CBRE support global charities

As a leader of a multi-billion dollar company, Sulentic is in a position to designate donation funding for a variety of charities. The company, under his direction set up a Disaster Relief Foundation that collects contributions from employees and then matches the donations. Thy then distribute the donation funds through approved partner organization for disaster relief to help rebuild in the communities that have been affected by disaster.

6. Robert Sulentic and his wife are philanthropists

Mr. Sulentic has made a fortune throughout his career. He’s not selfish with his fortune either. He and his wife Susan are dedicated to using their good fortune to help others in a variety of ways. Thy are a couple who make the world a better place to live.

7. He supports religious organizations

Sulentric has directed funding from this family foundation to th Cornerston Baptist Church. The funding has been designated to support an organization within the church called 4word, to support professional women of faith. Th group focuses on the needs of women and their careers as they try to juggle aspects of family, faith and their career responsibilities.

8. The Sulentics support several health initiatives

Robert also takes an interest in the health and well-being of others. Through the foundation, he supports a variety and health and human services organization. Donations are made to the Baylor Health Care System Foundation, the American Heart Association, the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Kathy’s Sunshine Outreach Center for work with senior citizens, the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation and JRDF International.

9. He also cares about youth and their education

Sulentic is an alum of Iowa State University. He and his wife have made donations to the school’s foundation to assist students in college. They also donate to the USC Marshall School of Business, Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas, a nonprofit organization for inner city kids called In the City for Good, Cristo Rey Dallas High School, St Albert Catholic High School and more. They also granted funding that provides food support for a preschool in Dallas.

10. He’s making a difference wherever he goes

Robert Sulentic is one of those extraordinary individuals who takes his responsibilities seriously. He leads the CBRE Group with integrity and he actively seeks to do right things. He’s all about making the world a better place and for sharing his bounty with others. He has a heart and a conscience and he’s just one of those guys that is worthy of admiration and respect for the way he conducts his life in business and privately.
