How Erin Andrews Achieved a Net Worth of $30 Million

Erin Andrews

Erin Andrews has been reporting on sports in the United States for a long time. In fact, she has created a name for herself by becoming the foremost female sports reporter in the country, something that is still quite difficult to achieve. Despite the fact that gender equality is becoming more and more important around the world, many people in the United States still believe that professional sports is very much a man's world. As such, rising to the top as a female reporter is not something that is typically considered an easy feat. Despite that fact, she not only managed to accomplish that goal, but also created a net worth of approximately 30 million dollars. Keep reading to find out how she did it.

Working As a Reporter

It's important to remember that Erin Andrews has been working as a reporter for roughly 20 years now. Although she now works at the top-tier in her field, that wasn't always the case. Everyone has to start out somewhere. When she was in college at the University of Florida, she started reporting for her local Florida-based college news channel and that led to an even bigger job with a local news station as soon as she got out of college. It was clear from the beginning that she had a penchant for reporting. That fact was especially true when it came to reporting on sports, as it was clear that she loved sports of all types. This was something that caught the eyes of people at ESPN and eventually, she worked her way up the ladder to become one of the foremost reporters for the network. As she gained more experience and became more of an asset to them, she has made more money working in that position. However, that isn't the only way that she has added to her net worth. Most recently, she has also worked as a reporter with Fox network.

Endorsement Deals

As it turns out, Andrews eventually landed an endorsement deal with Reebok. Everyone knows that endorsement deals are big money and she would have been a fool to pass it up. While she was working as a reporter, she was also making money off of this endorsement deal, something that added to her net worth considerably. Unfortunately, Reebok eventually changed the way that they do their advertising campaigns and ended the endorsement deal with Andrews.

Working in Television

There is a major difference between working as a sports reporter and working in other areas of television. For a time, she worked on the popular show Dancing with the Stars, working alongside Tom Bergeron as the co-host. Of course, she made additional income working in this capacity which added to what she was already making as a reporter. This in turn added to her net worth. Since then, she has also worked on the CMT Music Awards and even served as an occasional correspondent for Good Morning America.

Additional Income

In 2010, Andrews was staying in a hotel where another person had drilled holes through the wall in order to watch her get undressed. When she found the cameras, she sued both the hotel and the individual in question for 55 million dollars. Andrews won the battle in court, but it is highly unlikely that she will ever see a single penny from the settlement. While it might be included in her net worth on paper, it does nothing to contribute to it in a practical sense.

How Much Does She Make?

According to some sources, she makes approximately two million dollars a year just from her job as a reporter. When you consider the fact that she's been doing this for two decades, that turns out to be a considerable amount of money. As such, it's easy to see where the majority of her net worth comes from. While it's obvious that she didn't make two million dollars a year when she was first starting out, that has been her income for approximately the last 10 years. As a result, it's possible that she could have made more than 20 million dollars from her job as a reporter alone, not to mention the endorsement deal with Reebok and her work on Dancing With the Stars and other television shows.

Starting Her Own Business

Last but certainly not least, she has recently started a clothing line of her own. While there is every chance to believe that this clothing line will continue to grow and bring in even more money, it is already fairly successful. As such, it only adds to the salary that she's making through her other endeavors. When you put it all together, it's easy to see how she has attained a net worth of 30 million dollars. There is no doubt that Andrews has worked hard throughout her entire adult life. She has a great deal of ambition and drive and she knows what it takes to get the job done. She has never been one to shy away from challenges, even when the going gets rough. That fact is evidenced by her tenacity and by the net worth that she has accumulated to date.

Considering the fact that she is still very active in her chosen career field, there is no reason to believe that she will not continue to add to that net worth considerably in the future. This is even more true when you consider her new clothing line and other endeavors that she will likely take on in the future. By the time that she finally retires, there is no telling how much money she could potentially make. The thing that truly sets her apart is that she doesn't do any of this with the goal of accumulating a bigger net worth. For her, it's all about living a happy life and going after her dreams, something that she has done since she was a child. She truly loves what she does and that is what gives her the ability to continue doing it even though the schedule is demanding and can become very difficult at times.
