Bike racers know the value of a motorcycle that offers speed along with maneuverability, but there's something about hitting that magic number on the track that delivers the ultimate thrill. For those of you who are concerned with top speed, here are 10 of the fastest motorcycles of all time.

10. 2007 Aprilia RSV 1000 R

The Aprilia RSV 1000 R was produce from 2007 to the present. This bike achieved a top speed of 175 mph. It's powered with a 998 cc V-twin liquid-cooled engine that cranks 143 horsepower. The Aprilia RSV 1000 R has received the highest ratings for its speed and engine build. It's heavier than most of the competitors in the Japanese market but it carries its weight remarkably well. It's a tall and slender bike that gets more comfortable t higher speeds. It's a dream on smooth road surfaces but bumpy roads and the hard suspension are a challenge. This bike is powered with a 998 cc liquid-cooled 16-valve engine that generates a generous 200 horsepower. The first model was released in 1998 but it really came into its own in 2015. Yamaha keeps raising the bar with periodic updates to the ground-up package that started in 2015 and continues to this day. This is Yamaha's legendary open-class sportbike and every year there's something new to appreciate. It's worth noting that this model is also a four-time MotoAmerica Superbike champion.

8. 2020 MV Agusta F4 1000R

The MV Agusta F4 1000R was first launched in 2006 with a 998 cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder 4-stroke engine. It cranks out a generous 174 horsepower at 11,900 rpm along with 82 lb-ft of torque at 10k. The top speed recorded for the Agusta F5 1000R is 186 mph which is plenty for the average rider and it serves you well on the track as well.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R first rolled off production lines in 2012 and it's still manufactured at the present. It's powered by a 1,441 cc liquid-cool four-stroke engine that grants 207.9 horsepower with a top speed of 186 mph. It's been given the nickname "The quarter-mile king" for a reason. This bike tears up the track with its top-rated acceleration and nimble handling. The latest iteration features a unique monocoque aluminum frame with premium onboard electronics.

The BMW S1000RR was introduced in 2009 and the model is still in production. It's powered by a 999cc inline-four engine that generates 205 horsepower which is an increase from its previous 199 in older models. The max torque is 83 lb-ft at 11,000 rpm ranging to 74 lb-ft at 5,500. The bike has been around for more than 10 years now and it just keeps getting better with time. BMW can rightfully boast that almost every component of the RR has received an update.

The Suzuki Hayabusa was first released in 1999 ad is still in production at the present with a 2022 model pending release. The motorcycle is powered with a 1,299 cc four-stroke inline-four engine that cranks 173.9 horsepower. The selling price of this bike is moderate at $13,500 brand spanking new.

The second fastest motorcycle of all time is the Kawasaki Ninja H2R. This bike was first introduced in 2015 and it is still manufactured today. It's powered by a Supercharged 998 cc inline-4 DOHYC engine. It cranks 310 horsepower. The bike is sold for $50,000.

The fastest motorcycle of all time is the 2006 Dodge Tomahawk. This model was first released in 2003 with the final production in 2006. It holds the record for the fastest bike in the world, powered by an 8.3-liter V-10 SRT 10 Dodge Viper engine There were only 9 units ever made which makes the Dodge Tomahawk not only the fastest motorcycle of all-time but also one of the rarest collectibles. Not all of the Tomahawks can achieve a speed of 420. The range for the top speed is between 300 to 420 mph. The large engine puts out 500 horsepower. The value of a Dodge Tomahawk in top condition is currently assessed at $555,000.
