20 Things You Didn't Know about Flytrex

Imagine what it would be like if you didn't have to go out of the house and run to the store every time you needed something. Think about how much more convenient your life would be if you weren't forced to go out and look for all of those little items that you need on a daily basis, the items that you're constantly running out of. How much time would you save if you could just have those items delivered directly to your door without ever leaving the comfort of your home or having to stop what you're doing in the middle of your busy schedule? Things would probably go a lot smoother for you throughout your day, don't you think? The truth is, it is possible to have all of these things, provided you live in a location that is serviced by Flytrex. If you're not familiar with the company, you really don't know what you're missing. As a matter of fact, here are 20 things about the company that you might not know, but you'll probably be anxious to learn a lot more by the time you're finished reading.

1. They put a special focus on the suburbs

The company decided early on that they wanted to put the focus on suburbs located in the United States. The reason that they made this decision is because that is where they can do the most good with the products that they utilize in order to provide their service. Granted, they are not available in every city as of yet, but that doesn't mean that they won't be someday. As a matter of fact, they are constantly expanding into more and more areas, and sometimes you'll find them in areas that you wouldn't routinely expect them to be.

2. They use drones to deliver goods

If you're wondering how they deliver goods to your home, it's all done through drones. They have these very cool, unique drones that have relatively spacious storage areas underneath them. That allows the company to put your order in this storage area and then tell the drone where to deliver that order to. Granted, you can't buy an entire cart worth of groceries like you might do if you went shopping on your own, but you can certainly order bread, eggs and milk. If you're trying to order something just to get you through dinner on a given night, this could be a perfect way to do that. The best part is that you have the opportunity to get what you need and you don't have to leave the house in order to do it, as previously mentioned.

3. They’ll bring whatever you order right to your own backyard

Since they work mainly in the suburbs, they focus on bringing the order directly to your backyard. Most delivery services of this type focus on bringing the order to the front door. In the midst of so many packages being stolen from front doors and porch pirates who will destroy property and do just about anything else in order to get their hands on the products you order, the company decided long ago they would be safer to deliver to your backyard instead. As such, all you have to do is order, wait just a few minutes and then watch for the drone to come directly to your backyard.

4. Their service is perfect for those who are self-isolating

As a matter of fact, this is a perfect service for people who are forced to self isolate as a direct result of the pandemic. After all, there is no contact whatsoever in this delivery. The items that you order are secured to the storage container beneath the drone and the drone then delivers your products directly to your backyard, all without there ever being a need for two people to actually come together in order to exchange goods or even cash.

5. They’ve found a way to get around rush hour traffic

One of the reasons that they've become so popular is because they have found an effective way around rush hour traffic. Since they use drones, they don't have to deal with traffic and that alone sets them apart from everybody else. Even the fastest delivery driver can't make their guaranteed time limit if they're caught in traffic. When you drive, you might know every back road and consider yourself one of the most reliable delivery drivers in the world, but you still can't get there faster than a drone that can fly above all the traffic and go straight to someone else's house.

6. Their drones are among the best in the business

It's important to note that they don't just use any drones, either. As a matter of fact, all of their drones are aviation-grade pieces of equipment and they're all certified. The company only uses well-made, reliable drones that are considered to be among the best in the business. After all, it simply wouldn't make sense for them to use anything less than this when they're trying to build a reputation on quality, speed and service that's out of this world.

7. You can get practically anything you want delivered

If you're fortunate enough to live in an area where their services are offered, the good news is that you can get practically anything you want. They will deliver your coffee to you in the morning and by the same token, you can get dinner delivered in the evening. As previously mentioned, you can have groceries delivered directly to your house. You can even have other things delivered such as flowers, medication, and even other types of items that you would have to go out and purchase yourself if it weren't for this particular service.

8. It’s all done through an app on your phone

As far as your part is concerned, it really doesn't get any easier than the system that they have set up. As luck would have it, they have everything set up on an app that you can download on your smartphone and then use that app directly to order practically anything you can think of and have it delivered in a matter of minutes. Even if the thing you're thinking of is outside the box, you might be surprised how many different things this company is willing to deliver.

9. Their app works with iPhone and Android

Of course, the company has created a system that works with both your iPhone and Android systems. It simply wouldn't make sense to create a service of this type and then make it so that only one group of people could actually access it. While the two apps might look slightly different, depending on whether you have an Android or an iPhone, it all comes out to be exactly the same in the end. All you have to do is log onto the app, place your order and pay, and it will be on its way in no time.

10. They claim to deliver your order in five minutes or less

The company claims to deliver your order in five minutes or less, no matter what that order might entail. That's definitely not something that's always easy to do, yet they manage to pull it off successfully more often than not. Again, it usually comes down to the fact that they're able to simply put whatever it is you've ordered in the drone and send it on its way.

11. They just raised a lot of money

The company is no stranger to raising substantial cash. In fact, they just raised their third round of cash, this time to the tune of a little more than $40 million. That's not exactly a small chunk of change. Sure, there are other companies that have raised more money, but there aren't that many companies like Flytrex to begin with. Considering the fact that they are still a relatively young company, $40 million isn't so bad after all. The good news is that it will allow them to expand in even more cities throughout the United States. Eventually, they want to be able to offer service to every suburb in the country and this will help them get closer to that goal.

12. Their drones can carry almost 7 pounds of payload

As previously mentioned, there is more storage space underneath the drone than you might think. If you feel like approximately seven pounds of payload isn't really that much, consider this fact. That's enough for about six people to order hamburgers and fries for dinner. It's certainly more than enough to give you a chance to order dinner or even get a few important grocery items.

13. The drones can travel faster than you think

The drones can travel faster than you think too, as fast as 32 miles per hour. That's not so bad when you consider the fact that drones are faster than most race horses. It's also one of the ways that the company manages to hold up their five minute guarantee. In some cases, it takes them longer to pack up your order than it does for the order itself to actually get to you.

14. They also have a decent range

The company decided to use drones that had a relatively respectable range. In this particular case, they can go about three and a half miles and then make their way back before they need to be charged. It might not sound like a lot, but it certainly does work well for houses that are located in the suburbs of major cities. That is precisely why the company has focused on that demographic to begin with.

15. They’ve been around longer than you probably think

Most people think that the company is very much in its infancy, but that isn't necessarily the truth. In fact, they've been around since 2013. The reason that so many people in the United States think that they're a brand new company is because they've only been operational in the United States for a relatively short time.

16. They’ve only set up service in a few cities in the US

To date, they've only set up service in about three US cities. However, they have repeatedly said that this is something that they want to change in the future. It's also something that they're actively working toward changing..

17. They help businesses cut costs every day

Companies love to partner with them because they help those companies cut costs on delivery services. As a result, they typically don't have any trouble getting other companies to partner with them so they can provide adequate delivery services.

18. Their service originated in one of the toughest markets in the world

In fact, that service originated in Israel, one of the busiest and most demanding services in the world. It's no wonder that they managed to iron out most of the kinks by the time that they started producing delivery service in the United States.

19. Their drones don’t even have to land

Perhaps one of the most interesting things about their services is that their drones don't even have to land. Instead, they are lowered on a wire from a height of 80 feet. Once the order reaches ground level, the wire automatically disconnects and the drone flies away, leaving your order just as you wanted it. It's one of the most efficient systems in existence, and it also helps keep costs down.

20. They use the cloud to receive orders and send out drones

Not surprisingly, they use the cloud to get a GPS location when you place an order. That's precisely how the drone knows where to go. It allows them to find your address quickly and easily without wasting valuable time. It also helps because you don't have to worry about the drone looking for something and making wrong turn out for Wrong Turn, like some ground-based delivery drivers do
