Five Hotels With Excellent Status Match Programs

Hotels offer status matching for the purpose of convincing valuable customers to stay with them rather than their competitors. With that said, there is a limitation to what hotels are and are not willing to do when it comes to status matching, which is why interested individuals should examine their options with care and consideration. This is particularly true because status matching can come with some serious limitations in some cases, which is even more reason for people to research in a thorough and methodical manner.

Here are five examples of hotel status match programs that interested individuals might want to check out:

Club Carlson Status Match

People who are interested in Club Carlson's status match program can send information about their elite status at some other hotel to them via the page that has been set up to facilitate such interactions. Generally speaking, people with mid-tier status can expect Silver status, whereas people with top-tier status can expect Gold status. Some people might be familiar with the fact that Club Carlson has one more tier beyond Gold status, but unfortunately, interested individuals can't get that via its status match program. Instead, they will have to make their way to the tier in the old-fashioned way, which is something that can take a fair amount of time as well as a fair amount of money. Please note that Club Carlson has a rule about status matching once and only once for the entire lifetime of interested individuals, meaning that they might want to make use of its status match program with care and consideration.

Hilton Status Match

Hilton has a page set up for people who want to send in information about their elite status at other hotels as well. For those who are curious, sending in a request for status matching will require interested individuals to provide proof of their elite status as well as proof that they have stayed there at some point in the last 12 months, which should be a relatively simple and straightforward process. There is some variation regarding what people can get from Hilton's status matching, but it seems that people with top-tier status can expect Diamond while the rest can expect Gold. The first will need to complete 8 stays while the second will need to complete 4 stays for extended status.

Hyatt Status Match

There are times when Hyatt will offer interested individuals the chance to status match. However, such opportunities come and go, meaning that interested individuals will want to pay close attention to them when they come up. Otherwise, there is no real harm to interested individuals sending in such requests to Hyatt, but at the same time, there is no real reason to believe that those requests will produce the desired results. Something that interested individuals might want to watch out for.

Marriott Status Match

Marriott requires interested individuals to either call them or send in a request for status matching via their website. There aren't a lot of exact details that have been revealed in a public place, but the experiences of past interested individuals suggests that the deals aren't bad. In short, most applicants won't be able to get status right away, but they will be able to take a challenge that will require them to make either 3 stays, 6 stays, or 9 stays in a total of 3 months for Silver, Gold, and Platinum status. With that said, it is interesting to note that supposedly, people can ask for status matching on an annual basis, which is better than what some of the other hotels are willing to offer.

Starwood Status Match

Starwood offers interested individuals a chance to challenge. In short, interested individuals have a 3-month period in which to spend 9 nights for Gold status and 18 nights for Platinum status. Be warned that Starwood's status matching comes with a list of limitations that interested individuals will want to be aware of. For example, it offers successful status matching no more than once a lifetime. Furthermore, interested individuals can't complete if they have had either Gold or Platinum status with Starwood within the last 5 years. Finally, interested individuals need to make sure that their nights are paid nights for the challenge because other nights won't count towards the total.
