How DJ Khaled Achieved a Net Worth of More than $20 Million

DJ Khaled

When observing some of the music moguls in the Hip Hop industry, it is easy to infer that there is money to be made in the Hip Hop world. When checking out the lifestyles of guys like Master P, Diddy, Jay-Z and others, you begin to gain an understanding of why so many children are inspired to pursue music careers in Hip Hop. With that being said, you are probably among the many who constantly wonder where DJ Khaled came from and how he built his fortune.

After a little research, I discovered that Khalid is actually worth more than $20 million. According to Forbes, Khaled earned $24 million last year alone, but how exactly did amass such a health fortune what appears to be a relatively short period?

While Dj Khaled has been off of many people’s radar, he has not been off of the music charts. In fact, by every standard, his career is soaring. He has adopted the nickname Billboard Billy, which not only represents his success on the music charts but his aspirations as a business mogul and eventual billionaire.

To give you an idea of how his music contributes to his wealth, his last two albums, Grateful and Major Key, both hit the number one spot on the Billboard charts. With that comes a lot of cheddar. However, Khaled’s music is not the only contributor to his wealth. He also owns several businesses, including a record label, a headphone line, and a publishing company. He is mastering the concept of capitalizing on his brand. He knows he is hot and anything with his name or his brand — We the Best — will sell when presented to the right market.

He also earns handsome paydays from six-figure gigs that he does on a regular basis. Yes, you read that last sentence correctly. He earns six-figures per night for shows that he does. It does not end there. Khaled earns millions of dollars in endorsements from companies that include Apple, Champ Sports, Mentos, and numerous other brands. With the heat he has built on the charts, he has become endorsement gold, and everyone wants to get in on the action.

To solidify his money-making momentum, Khaled signed with Jay-Z’s management company in 2017. By signing with the one who many views as the G.O.A.T., Khaled is positioning himself to capitalize on a popularity status that has him currently sitting at more than 15 million social media followers on Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram alone.

When asked about what makes Khaled such a hot commodity right now, Jay-Z responded by pointing out that he is authentic. He has always been who he his now, the money, the cameras, and the lights simply reveal this personality to the world. According to Forbes’ most recent list of the top-earning Hip Hop artists, Khaled broke that top-ten — coming in at #9.

What is noteworthy here is that Khaled is a much of an overnight sensation as he is made out to be. He has been in the game for decades, opening up for acts like the late great Notorious B.I.G. and Nas. He has paid his dues as DJ and music producer.

While DJ Khaled displays his wealth in numerous ways, without question, it is most visible through his collection of cars. The Hip Hop star was Born Khaled Mohamed Khaled in 1975 in New Orleans. The son of Palestinian immigrants. However, he would not stay in New Orleans for long, as his parents moved to Florida, where Khaled developed a love for music and DJ’ing parties during his teenage years. He would eventually start creating mixtapes and selling them. It would be his production skills on these mixtapes that would contribute to his meteoric climb in the industry. Initially sporting aliases such as Arab Attack and Terror Squadian, Khalid had to admit that he would not get very far in this country with those Aliases. In fact, he would like end up investigated and arrested by some federal agency with initials on their letterhead.

After hosting a number of radio shows in Miami during the 1990s, Khaled decided to still with the moniker of DJ Khaled. Yes, Khaled has spent years honing his craft and building his constantly expanding empire.
