How Kevin Hart Achieved a Net Worth of $120 Million

Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart is one of the best known comedians to come out of the United States in a long time. The fact that he is so successful has led to him accumulating a personal fortune of $120 million. This makes him one of the richest comedians of all time and the fact that he is still working means that there is a good chance that this fortune could grow further. This article will look at how he has amassed this fortune and which areas of his work earn him the most money.

Kevin Hart was born in Philadelphia and started his comedy career by performing in comedy clubs all over New England. He had limited success to begin with and there are even tales of him getting booed off stage on a few occasions. However, he did not give up and started entering comedy competitions which started to get him noticed. It is fair to say that he when he began his comedy career he struggled at first to find a style that was going to work for him. However, when he got into his stride his fortunes began to change and he started to become more successful.

His perseverance eventually paid off and he starred in a couple of shows on Comedy Central. He was given his first role in the show ‘Undeclared’ by Judd Apatow who was a director on the show. He guest starred in three episodes and this really helped to raise his profile. He has worked with Judd Apatow many times throughout his career and the two men are good friends. After his role in Undeclared he began to appear in several other TV shows including high profile shows such as Modern Family. He also appeared in his own shows which were shown on Comedy Central.

As he started to become more well known as a comedian and TV actor, offers of roles in films began to come in. Not all of these films were hugely successful and some of them were quite unpopular with critics. However, he has also starred in films such as Central Intelligence and The Secret Life Of Pets which have done very well at the box office. Films like Central Intelligence where he has a starring role would have earned him more money than his earlier films where his roles were not as big. His film career has continued with his latest film being the remake of Jumanji.

He has acted in a number of movies and TV shows but some of this earnings also come from his writing and producing work. He wrote, produced and acted in Real Husbands Of Hollywood. The show is a spoof of the Real Housewives shows that air on Bravo where he and his co-stars play exagerrated versions of themselves. The show ran from 2013 – 2016 and had a number of high profile stars such as Nelly, Duane Martin and Nick Cannon. The show was based around Kevin Hart’s characters failed attempts to climb the social ladder in Hollywood.

The basis of Kevin Hart’s comedy is recollections of his life growing up as an African American with a large extended family. This is slightly different from the comedians that would have inspired him as a young man but it is something that makes his style of comedy very unique. His father was a drug addict and this had a huge impact on his upbringing. He has acknowledged in the past that he used humor as a way to distract him from all the problems he had in his personal life when he was growing up. He was very close to his mother before she passed away in 2016.

He occasionally goes on tour with his stand up routines and these shows generally sell out. Touring can be very draining, especially if there are a lot of dates on the tour as there is a lot of travelling involved. However, it is a great opportunity for comedians to connect with fans and it also helps to contribute to their earnings. For popular comedians such as Kevin Hart who sell a lot of tickets it can really make a difference to their net worth. His last tour was a world tour that began and ended in the United States.
