How Much Does it Cost to Attend a Pittsburgh Penguins Game?

The Pittsburgh Penguins are a dynamic hockey team and if you don't believe it just ask one of their thousands of fans who gather to watch them play at home and away. They have a large following who gather to cheer them on at PPG Paint Arena. If you'd like to get in on some of the fun and excitement of watching a match live, it's not really that expensive. Don't let the cost of a ticket deter you from getting out of the house and having the time of your life watching the Penguins compete up close and personal. There are a lot of fans who consider catching a live game but they haven't because it's cheaper to catch the game on television or at a local sports bar. The truth is, that for the cost, which isn't that much, you'll have the time of your life. We've broken down the total cost of attending a game so you can put together your own package and know up front how much cash to bring with you so you can enjoy all of the amenities while you're enjoying the game.

The price of tickets is reasonable

The average attendee spends $50 on a ticket to watch the Penguins play at PPG Paints Arena. The ticket prices depend the seat location that you choose in the arena. Although any seat will give you a decent view of the game, some are closer to the action. The costs range from $38 a ticket all the way up to $604 if you want club level.

Parking isn't that bad either

When determining the total cost to attend a game you also have to figure in the minimal cost of parking. There are quite a few spots for parking available so it shouldn't be a problem. We recommend reserving a parking pass at the arena online in advance because it gets you closer to the game and it's a lot more convenient because your vehicle is close enough so you can access it whenever you want. Row parking at 1100 Liberty ave which is 0.4 miles to the venue is just $19. It's the same price to park on the 10th street parking lot or at the lot at 1100 Liberty Ave and the Cherry Way one as well. Row 1707 Fifth Avenue parking passes are $24 each and it's $27-$29 for Row 1100 on Liberty Ave and Row 44 at Bigelow Square. The closest parking at Row 112 at Washington Place is $43. Even the highest priced parking is less than you'd pay on average at an NFL game. The average attendee pays $27 for parking to be close to the game.

Concessions aren't really that much

It's common knowledge that the prices charged for food and beverages at NHL stadiums are higher than you'd pay at a fast food restaurant, but it's not so much that you'll want to pass on it. There are dozens of vendors at PPG Paints Arena and the food smells and looks so good that it's hard to pass up. It's all a part of the match day experience. You can get a burger at Burgatory for about $3 more than they charge at their other locations. For stadium food, this isn't bad at all. There's a bit of a markup but it's not as high as at some of the other arenas. The cost of beer is just under $11, so you can grab a burger and have a couple of drinks for about $30.

How much does it cost to attend a Pittsburg Penguins game?

On average an attendee at the game will spend $50 on a ticket, $27 on parking and $30 on concessions. This comes to $107 which isn't bad when you consider how much fun you'll have. There are ways to see the Penguins play for less though. You could eat before you go and split the cost of the $19 parking with a buddy and settle for a couple of bears at the game while going with the lower priced ticket. You could end up spending just $38 for the ticket, $10 on parking and $11 for a beer for a total cost of $59 and still have an amazing time.
