Montblanc Summit

It’s only been six years since Montblanc started making luxury smartwatches. The first modern smartwatch it produced was an e-strap accessory followed by the 2017 edition of the Summit smartwatch. The third model in the history of the brand is the Summit Lite Smart, which is an improved version of the Summit 2+. The Summit Lite Smart is the most recent offering, new for 2021 sporting a casual aesthetic, it merits a closer look.

A Blogtowatch highlights the new edition for the year as a fresh and eco-friendly version featuring instead of the previous stainless steel case, a new lite aluminum case in a new design, and a lower price. The brand joined in the effort to provide a modern smartwatch for those who value the convenience of a digital timepiece with multiple functions that allows health and fitness monitoring qualifying it as a smartwatch with a larger area for viewing for exceptional readability at a glance.

Specifications of the Summit Lite Smart

The case of the Summit Lite Smart provides the rationale for the Lite reference in its name. It’s made of recycled aluminum material. It reuses materials producing a lighter feeling on the wrist compared to its steel predecessor. The width of the case is a generous 43 mm in a choice of either matte black or silvertone colors. The case back is made of fiberglass resin with stainless steel, and features engravings, charging pins, and a heart rate sensor. According to the website of the brand, the crown is a rotating type with a pusher. The central crown lets you scroll by either rotating it or by touching the large-sized dial or screen, in this case, featuring digital readouts. The dial is protected with a Gorilla Glass crystal which is highly scratch-resistant.

The technology of the Summit Lite Smart

The luxury smartwatch is powered by advanced technology in the place we would ordinarily discuss the features of the movement. It’s more akin to a miniature computer, complete with an operating system, processor, memory, storage, and sensors. The Operative system of the smartwatch is Wear OS by Google with a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor. The multifunctional timepiece gets its power from a DC 5 volt USB port h. It is iOS 12+ and Android 6.0 compatible except for the Go edition. The timepiece display is a 1.2-inch full circle AMOLED featuring an ultra-thin border with a 390 x 390 resolution. The connectivity is via Bluetooth 4.2 with WiFi connectivity for 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz with GPS and NFC payment. The timepiece comes with 1 gigabyte of memory and a capacity of 8 gigabytes of storage. These are terms we’re becoming more accustomed to with the advent of a new digital age of luxury watches.

Functions

The Summit Lite Smart is loaded with sensors keenly tuned to pick up with some accuracy, the heart rate, allowing health and fitness monitoring. The timepiece is also equipped with a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a barometer, a microphone, and it also produces ambient light. The buttons for controlling functions are in the form of one on the crown and 2 other programmable pushers for wearer convenience. The strap is made of black fabric with a pin buckle crafted of black coated stainless steel for durability and comfort. The straps are interchangeable and this strap with its pin and buckle closure is compatible with all Summit smartwatches produced so far by the brand. The box is made of eco-friendly paper and contains the Summit Lite smartwatch, a magnetic charging base, a USB cable, and more. The manufacturer also included a quick start guide to assist new wearers in maximizing the use of each function offered by the modern smartwatch. For some, it’s nothing new regarding the tech, but for others, it’s a bold venture into a new age where digital functionality is replacing the old traditional means of telling time. Computers with battery power are replacing the old methods of timekeeping and it’s a change some are happy to adopt while others prefer the old traditional timepieces. The box also contains a safety manual as this is a type of wearable technology with its strengths and its vulnerabilities. A guarantee card provides new owners with information about the two-year warranty, along with requirements for the proper care of the watch.
