The history of Palmaz Vineyards

Palmaz actively pursued is passion for making wine He grew up on a vineyard in Napa Valley, owned by his family and it was in his blood He spent some time as an apprentice in the industry but he was not satisfied with is ability to read the wines in a way that he believed a winemaker ought to. It didn’t deter him pursuing his strong desire to continue as a winemaker, but it did represent an obstacle that he knew he needed to overcome. Instead of settling for sub par skills and abilities or throwing in the towel, he did something about it. Christian Palmaz who also had a penchant for computer science decided to turn to technology to help him compensate for what he considered to be a deficit. He threw himself into a new project that would take him six years to develop. The project was a “smart fermentation tank” which would enhance his wine making skills by monitoring the oxygen levels and the temperature of the wine during the fermentation process. This would help him to determine the metrics which are involved in creating superb wines.

An inventor and innovator

Christian Palmaz is one of the most innovative wine makers in the business today. His invention came in handy when the California wildfires of 2017 swept across the property, making it necessary for the crew to abandon the area. He had designed the tanks to be automatically adjusting and they made the necessary changes to the product that was in process and when all was said and done, the smart fermentation tanks had saved Palmaz Vineyards an estimated $10 million by maintaining ideal conditions for massive amounts of juice which were in the process of fermentation.

Further Palmaz inventions
