According to 1000 Logos, the artist behind the development of the fonts for the “Paw Patrol” logo is Alan Meeks. He is credited with the Aachen typeface that is used in the word “Patrol.” This is the only real information that has been released about the individual contributors or the designers. We assume that the team working for Spin Master Ltd. gave credit back to the larger corporation for development. There are two separate typefaces combined in the creation of the logo however, including a more comical type for the “Paw” text, which further dilutes our knowledge of the contributors who helped to make the “Paw Patrol” logo so brilliant.

The history and meaning of the “Paw Patrol” logo

The intention behind the logo is to convey the name of the series along with the ideas that it represents. This is well represented with a paw and a shield that together provides a visual representation for the name Paw Patrol. The symbolism is straight-forward and easy to understand, as it was created for young children of pre-school age.

The Shield

The Shield emblem has a paw imprint at the center. This shield has been rendered in multiple colors and sizes, and occasionally, there will be visible bone pattern on the interior. It’s delivered in a 3D frame that gives the impression of metal, as in a badge that would be worn by a professional conducting patrols.

The logo applied to merchandise

The first merchandise in the Paw Patrol franchise was released in 2014. Since the show originated in Canada, this was the first country to receive the line of toys. The Paw Patrol logo is used throughout the world. For non-English speaking countries, both the English version of the logo and a translation was used for products sold or shown in Spain. The text was replaced with local text for China, and replaced with the local translation for Russia.The logo has become well-known in various iterations throughout the entire world.

2018 “Paw Patrol” Movie logo

According to designforece, Spin Master Ltd. charged their team of developers to create the logo for the new “Paw Patrol” movie. The original logo was used and expanded to create a more exciting logo featuring lightning bolts and the colors red and gold. The traditional shield from the original logo appeared, but in silver color with a gold and yellow fill for emphasis. This is yet one more example of how the team at Spin Master Ltd alters the logo to accommodate its intention, but the one constant is the shield and paw.

Although there is no wonderful and inspirational story behind the development of the “Paw Patrol” logo, it’s an interesting one, and the great minds that conspired together to develop the intention deserve applause for their successful efforts.
