Is There Such a Thing as a Lamborghini Limo?
Limousines have always been a show of luxury. When we talk about limousines today, we often think about black stretch sedans with a long wheelbase and a chauffeur. However, limos today come in all shapes and sizes. Apart from the classic sedan style, limos now come as a bus or SUV type, which is generally used for larger parties and events. There’s also another kind of luxury limo that’s not as common—the sports luxury limo. Sports limos might be the newest trend in the luxury automobile industry, and one of the biggest names associated with it happens to be Lamborghini.
Is there such a thing as a Lamborghini limo?
Yes, there is—conceptually that is. Lamborghini’s limousine line is called the Aventador limo. According to this article from Topgear.com, Lamborghini’s Aventador limo will be the world’s first sports luxury stretch limo. However, the company Cars for Stars is only currently working it on as a concept. Cars for Stars is a luxury limo and car rental company based in the UK. They know everything there is to know about luxury and limousines combined, so we can all expect their concept design to be up to par. They certainly did not disappoint.
What to expect with the Aventador limo
In order to picture a Lamborghini Aventador limo, you’d simply have to look at an existing Aventador and stretch it out in your mind. The Aventador is one of the brand’s most popular models. Like many sports cars, this model is designed to perform. Its engineering is unmatched in the super sports car world. The design is ultra futuristic because it was created with aerospace in mind. The Aventador boasts a carbon-fiber monocoque design and a naturally aspirated V12 engine. It is most fascinating under the hood, but it’s also just as striking upon first look.
The Lamborghini Aventador comes in 4 different models, each one bearing everything that you could only expect from the Italian manufacturer. When picturing a limousine version of the Aventador, you can simply take the Aventador S model and lengthen the wheelbase quite a bit. That’s essentially what the designers at Cars for Stars had in mind with the rendition they put out. The Aventador limo concept is to still have everything the Aventador S has under the hood—the 6.5-liter, 700hp V12 engine. But what will be most interesting will be the cosmetic and comfort aspects of the car.
Since limos are designed to accommodate a lot of people in one space and sports cars generally tend to seat only a couple, the idea of a sports luxury limo is an interesting one. As per the concept, the Aventador limo will have an L-shaped lounge couch towards the back of the vehicle. This seating is designed to accommodate up to 5 people, but there will be 3 additional seating just across from the lounge area. A typical limousine is generally designed to seat 8 to 12 people. So an 8-seater limo may not seem like a party; but when compared to a regular sports car, it’s definitely more than enough. You can imagine Italian leather seats that are hand stitched and heated—basically anything that denotes Italian luxury. The interior will also have plenty of extras including a plasma screen, surround sound, and a dedicated bar area for all the champagne you can have.
The exterior of the sports limo will clearly be reminiscent of the Lamborghini Aventador S. Apart from the extended wheelbase, one of the most important features presented on the Aventador limo concept is the door, or doors at that. The limo will have 4 impressive scissor doors that will be sure to drop the jaws of even the biggest car critic. True to sports car fashion, the Aventador limo will have a bright paint color, low ceilings, and an immaculate curb appeal that can’t be compared.
The future of the Aventador limo
As it stands, the concept of the Aventador limo remains to be just that—a concept. When the creators of the concept first released the idea to the world in 2013, they were positive that it would create traction enough to pursue production. While it created a good amount of buzz in the industry, it wasn’t enough to really inspire the manufacturers at Lamborghini to make it into reality. The designers at Cars for Stars were opting to cut an Aventador in half in order to make the concept happen, but that hasn’t happened either even after 7 years later. The company has done the same to Ferraris and Porsches in the past, so there’s still a possibility that the Aventador limo could see the light of day.
The true question, however, is whether people are willing to rent a Lamborghini limousine for an even higher price than what a classic limousine costs. Nothing is as flashy as a luxury sports car, after all; and if you want to celebrate your special moment in a big way, luxury sports limo is definitely the way to go. Just remember that with a sports luxury limo, you’ll also be sacrificing a few comforts such as space and headroom. Depending on the number of people you have in your party, a sports luxury limo might feel too crowded too soon. We can picture a party of four occupying a Lamborghini Aventador limo comfortably—but not any more than that. If price is a nonissue and space is not a concern, trying out a Lamborghini Aventador limo should be in your bucket list. Unfortunately, you’ll still have to do a bit of waiting until someone out there commits to creating this one-of-a-kind limousine. After all, the Lamborghini Aventador is too much of a brilliant idea to be left as a concept.
