Ranking the 10 Top Lexus SUVs of All Time

Lexus vehicles are known for the high quality in materials and workmanship that go into the building of the SUVs in their lineup. It’s been one of the more dependable models for decades and the brand is doing a good job of keeping up with the public demand for Sport Utility Vehicles.  Many of the older versions of their SUVs are still on the road today and with this in mind, here are the top 10 Lexus SUVs of all time, ranked in accordance with their ratings and reliability scores from a number of sources, including U.S. News & World Report’s Best Cars rankings:

10. 2010 Lexus GX

The Lexus GX received an overall rating of 7.8 out of 10 with a 4.19 out of 5 for reliability. In 2010, this model was redesigned and it fixed the problems which were identified with previous model years, making it a popular choice among consumers. The average price for this vehicle is $28,636. It’s a larger vehicle with a luxury interior which received upgrades, although it was one of the first to come equipped with Bluetooth connectivity along with leather upholstery and heating and cooling in the front seats.

9. 2019 Lexus RX

The 2019 Lexus RX model is the latest in a line that has been in production since 1998 and it’s long been valued as one of the top ten since its introduction. It’s a mid sized crossover that leans heavily on the luxury component. This car offers plenty of horsepower with its 3.5 V6 gas powered engine generating 308 horsepower. It is one of Lexus’ top selling in the luxury SUV class with a starting price at $49,995 and has been voted as #5 in ranking in its class.

8. 2019 Lexus LX

The newer 2019 Lexus LX is also a popular model which retains the same towing capacity with a V8 engine that cranks 383 horsepower. It tackles most types of tough terrain and offers a sweet luxury interior for five passengers and plenty of cargo space for active families who are on the go. The starting price for the
$86,080.

7. 2019 Lexus UX 250h

The new Lexus UH 250 is a popular model within the new lineup that offers six options or variations. It comes with a bold new styling with high ratings for performance and a ton of new tech features on the inside including Apple CarPlay, integration, AWD and the Lexus Memory System as a luxury feature which retains driver’s seat positioning along with steering wheel and outside mirror positioning for fast adjustments. The starting price is at $34,000, offering an excellent value for the cost.

6. 2009 Lexus LX

The 2009 edition of the Lexus LX achieved a rating of 8.15 out of a possible ten with a high reliability score of 4.7 out of 5. This vehicle’s average price runs at $45,938 for the 2017 model and although a bit on the spendy side, it was and still is considered to be a good value for what you get. It came with a towing capacity of 7,000 pounds.

5. 2017 Lexus LX

The 2017 edition of the Lexus LX was a fresher and updated model in comparison with the 2009 model which retained its amazing towing capacity. It was upgraded on the interior and the exterior in 2013, but remained pretty much the same after that without complaint. This vehicle’s average price runs at $45,938 for the 2017 model and although a bit on the spendy side, it was and still is considered to be a good value for what you get. It was voted the US News Best Luxury Large SUV fr Families in 2011 with standard four wheel drive. The fuel economy isn’t the best when compared to other brands but it’s a highly functional and very comfortable, high performing SUV that is still a favorite today.

4. 2010 Lexus RX Hybrid

The RX Hybrid was ranked as the number two luxury midsize SUV when it came out in the 2010 edition. The score that it achieved reached an amazing 8.9 out of 10 for comfort, luxury, dependability, and so forth. It’s an award winning vehicle that reached the number one position in the Hybrid SUV class, number two in the Luxury Midsize SUV class and thirs in the Used Hybrid SUV under $30,000 category. Even though it is a car that was sold as new nearly a decade ago, it was one of the most highly ranked SUVs in its time and is deserving of inclusion in our list.

3. 2008 Lexus GX 470

This is an older Lexus that received high ratings from consumers with 85% giving the vehicle a perfect score of 5 out of five, followed by ten percent giving it a 4 and just five percent ranking it at a 3 which is average. This car received a total approval rate of 4.8 out of a possible 5, coming in third place for the best Lexus SUV of all time.

2. 2019 Lexus NX 300h

This is one of the newer Lexus models with a starting price of $38,835 -$45,000 and it comes with a powerful electric motor and a 2.5 liter gas powered engine that offers 31 mpg for a combined fuel rating. It’s fully equipped with luxury features including WiFi and you can upgrade to a 10.3 inch multimedia screen in one of the most advanced models in the lineup. The power system delivers 194 horsepower and the SUV is packed with active safety equipment. It is also available with an F Sport Option package for an environmentally friendly approach to SUV engineering.

1. 2010 Lexus RX 350

This car was rated as number one in the Luxury midsize SUV class for 2010. It was recognized for its reliability and it achieved a rating score of 9.1 out of a possible 10. This model year currently sells for an average price between $12 to $13,480 with an original selling price brand new for between $37,600 and $39,000. It was also voted the best luxury midsize crossover for the money in 2010 and number two in the used luxury midsize SUVs under $30,000 division for 2010.
