Seven Dials is a small area of London that includes seven roads that all meet at a junction that connects the Soho and Covent Garden areas of London. This is an atmospheric district that has a lot to offer to visitors who have come to England’s capital. If you are planning a visit to London, then here are just seven of the reasons why you should consider visiting Seven Dials during your stay.

1. The Hotels

Seven Dials is a popular part of London to stay because of the stunning hotels that are found in this area. The most famous of these is the magnificent Seven Dials Hotel, which is named after the area in which it stands. Another famous hotel is the Radisson Edwardian Mercer Street Hotel. The area was given its name because of the seven streets and because of a sundial that stood at the junction of these. The sundial column was replaced in 1989 with a replica of the original and this was unveiled by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands during a visit to London. St. Giles-in-the-Fields Church is also a historically and architecturally significant landmark in this area and it is located on St. Giles High Street.

7. The Crown Pub

The Crown Pub is one of the most famous pubs in London. This historic pub is actually considered an important local landmark as it stands at the apex of the seven streets that form Seven Dials. If you are visiting the area, then you should call in and enjoy a pint of beer.

8. The Coffee Shops

Seven Dials has the feel of a village in an urban location. Along each of the streets there are coffee bars where people meet with friends during the day. During the warmer months, people often sit outside with their coffees.

9. The Boutique Shops

One of the things for which this area of London is best-known is the shopping experience it offers. It has a good selection of boutique shops, stores that sell branded products, and tiny unique shops that sell unusual items. This means that visitors enjoy a diverse shopping experience.

10. The Festivals and Events

There are various exciting events that take place in Seven Dials throughout the year. If you are lucky enough to be in the area when one of the festivals is taking place, then you should do your best to get involved. These events include food festivals, Pride events, Christmas extravaganzas,the Seven Dials Soundtrack music festival, and the London Luminar festival.
