What Does it Cost to Attend a San Francisco Giants Game?

If you’re planning to go see the San Francisco Giants play live this year, it’s a good idea to find out how much it’s going to cost you in advance. If you’re on a budget, there are ways to see the game and enjoy yourself without breaking the bank. Of course, we all know that once you get into the park, the smell of the food is going to draw you like bees to honey. To help you prepare for the costs, we’ve put together the average cost of attending a Giants game in 2018 along with a breakdown of the costs involved.

Tickets aren’t that high

The average price that fans pay for a ticket is $38.30 apiece. This includes all sales and how much it will cost you depends on the game that you attend and where you plan to sit. Tickets on special days can be purchased for as low as $2, but in general, the price range for most games is between $18 for a decent seat with a good view of the game, all the way up to $106.74. The Giants tickets, in comparison to some of the other MLB teams quite reasonable.

Parking is not bad at all

If you’re driving to AT&T Park in San Francisco to catch an SF Giants game, you’ll have quite a few different options for parking. If you want to save money, you can park in one of the lots that offer pay parking for less than what AT&T charges, but you’ll probably have to walk for at least several blocks to and from the game. If it’s possible, it’s more convenient to park at the Park so you have fast access to your vehicle and you’ll know that it’s in an area that is patrolled by security. The cost of parking at AT&T Park on game day is between $30 and $40 in the official lots. Be prepared with cash because often, it’s a cash-only payment system. Some of the off-site parking areas start at a rate of $10 if this is too steep for you. Plan on arriving early so you can get a good spot to park because the official lots can fill up quickly.

Eating at the game doesn’t have to be expensive

Most stadiums and ballparks charge a lot more for the food and beverages than it costs to bring it in for yourself. If you want to enjoy a hot dog while you’re there it’s going to cost you $6.25 for each. Soft drinks average about $5.50 each and if you want a beer, the cost ranges from $11.00 each for the domestic brews all the way up to $19.25 for premium and some craft beers. There’s really no getting around the price of beer because you’re not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages into the park. They must be purchased on site and most are served in a 22-ounce cup.

You are allowed to bring your own food and snacks into the games but there are regulations, and items that you bring into the park are subject to an inspection, so it’s best not to try to break the rules. Fans are allowed to bring food that is wrapped in plastic into the stadium along with beverages that are in sealed plastic containers. The park prohibits all glass containers and cans. You can carry your food in a soft-sided cooler. No bag can be brought in that measures over 16″ x 16″ x 8″. This includes diaper bags, briefcases, food containers/coolers, and ladies’ purses. They do not allow you to bring hard-sided coolers into the park.

How much is the total cost to watch a San Francisco Giants game?

With an average cost of $38.30 per ticket and $40 for parking, it will cost $78.30. If you decide to eat at the park and buy two hot dogs and wash it down with 2 domestic beers, you can add an extra $34.50 to that sum for a total of $112.80. This is just an average estimate. You could spend a lot more if you want to max out on the amenities, or a lot less if you’re trying to keep the costs down. It’s not really that expensive to go watch the Giants play in person unless you go all out.
