Portable River Turbine Revolutionary for Clean Energy

portable-river-turbine

As the pressure mounts surrounding the need to develop cleaner energy solutions, businesses and individuals are looking for ways to lower their carbon footprint. While wind turbines have definitely made a significant impact as far as clean, renewable energy is concerned, there is a new revolutionary device that will likely catch the eye of the free spirit and those looking to live life off of the grid. At least that is what Idenergie, a Canadian-based company, is counting on.

The company has developed a portable river turbine that has the capacity to use the natural movement in a river’s current to generate 12kWh of power each day for a family.

According to the Idenergie’s CEO, Pierre Blanchet, there is an exceptional amount of hydrokinetic energy in moving mass of water. When you place a turbine in that moving mass of energy, it will slow down the movement of the water and subsequently convert it into mechanical energy. Once the moving mass of water is converted into mechanical energy, an electric generator and converter will then convert that energy into electricity. With this technology, users will have a battery that will be charged continuously around the clock.

This new turbine is an incredibly ingenious solution to the need for clean energy. The fact that it is portable also makes it highly practical for providing the necessary power for wilderness excursions. This particular design will help eliminate many of the negative elements of using traditional gas generators, including carbon emissions and the need to keep refilling the fuel tank. No more multiple trips to the gas station.

Helps Users Save Money

Another powerful benefit associated with this water powered turbine is the fact that it will help user save money, being that Idenergie assures the public that they will save as much as 50 percent on associated expenses — meaning that this new device will more than pay for itself.

One of the best benefits is its ease of use. It is an immensely straightforward power solution, which means that it democratizes water power technology by transforming it into something that the average person can install and use. There is no high-price installation costs to be concerned with. The device arrives flat packed, with simple assembly instructions. The user will be able to assemble the turbine using Allen keys. Once the device has been assembled, the user simply has to place it in the water.

The primary application of this new clean energy device is to service off the grid applications. Basically, it is ideal for people who are living in a cabin or small rural communities that are not connected to the general grid due to the fact that it is not economical. It was the intent of the engineers at Idenergie to make this type of power source available to any community who wanted to take advantage of it. The fact that there is no need for cranes or any other heavy machinery, means that the average family can install it themselves.

The fact that there is a growing interest in leaving the hustle of city life for a more simple existence, makes this new technology even that much more relevant. While living on the grid does have its advantages, it can take its toll on people after a while, making the simple life of rural living extremely appealing.

Access to Power Source

One of the challenges that many families face when considering living out in the middle of nowhere is the lack of access to a consistent electrical power source. While the gas generator has been the primary solution to this dilemma, it does have its drawbacks, including the emissions that are associated with it, as well as the constant need to refill the fuel tank.

Now, families will have the option to access an energy source that will be constant, and there will be no need to make all of those round trips to the gas station. According to Idenergie, the entire system can be assembled and installed with as few as three people. This means that the portability of the device will also make it ideal for camping trips and wilderness vacations.

As global warming continues to be a major concern all around the world, the need to develop the capacity for clean energy solutions that can serve as a consistent alternative to traditional energy generation is at an all-time high. While the initial focus for this water turbine was to serve people who currently live off of the grid, it is not unforeseeable to expect a more progressive design that will have the capacity to serve families who may live inside of the grid, but prefer not use the grid’s power.

The fact that this water turbine has the capacity to generate 12kWh of power each day, means that families will be able to carry out most activities that they would under normal circumstances, without the concern of straining the power source. This turbine was designed to be able to power an entire house, and the design definitely delivers in that area. This means that families can use refrigerators, TVs, lights and more.

Constructed with Aluminum

The fact that the body of this turbine is constructed of aluminum means that it is light enough for two normal sized adults to carry it out and position in the best location in the rivers current. At the same time it has enough weight to provide the sturdiness and stability that will be necessary to hold it in place as the current moves through it.

To ensure accessibility to this technology, the company will ship the turbine anywhere around the world in a box. The assembly of the turbine is so simple that it can be assembled right there on the riverbank. The most important part of the accessibility equation is the fact that the people who are performing the installation do not have to have any prior experience. This eco-friendly, unlimited source of power is one of the most promising solutions to the need for clean energy in recent years.

For families who live off of the grid and those who are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint, this new water turbine is definitely a viable alternative to traditional energy.
