The Five Best Hotels in National Harbor, MD

There are many points of interest along the Potomac, but National Harbor in Maryland is something special. Sitting right in Oxon Hill, what began as a small waterfront development has evolved into a true Maryland destination. There are no other places along the harbor quite like it. National Harbor has absolutely everything—places to eat, places to play, and places to stay. If you’re looking to spend a quick weekend at National Harbor, you’ll enjoy your time even more if you stay at the best hotels the area has to offer. Here are five of the best in National Harbor, Maryland.

Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center

This is probably the most popular resort in the area. Gaylord never disappoints anywhere, and this resort has everything you could possibly think of. It’s a huge property, so the amenities are just as grand. There are four amazing restaurants you can choose from, a world-class gym, a beautiful pool, and so many more. The views are not bad either. It doesn’t matter whether you’re traveling with a convention or just traveling on your own. There are plenty for you to enjoy in this resort. In fact, you probably wouldn’t even want to leave it just because it’s so glorious inside. But if you do want to go out, the resort is close to so many other attractions as well.

The Alexandrian, Autograph Collection

It’s gorgeous, and it’s unique. The Alexandrian is definitely an experience, and a stay here is guaranteed to be a memorable one—in a good way, of course. The hotel itself is stunning. The rooms are immaculate, and the amenities are actually ones that you’re going to want to use. The location of the property is unbeatable. The hotel is located right in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. The history around here is just incredible. You’ll have plenty to explore just around the hotel itself, and they all happen to be just a short walk away. If you want to stay at a place that will make you feel like you’re part of National Harbor’s history, the Alexandrian is the place to be.

The Westin Washington National Harbor

If you want the most amazing views of the nation’s capital from your window, choose the Westin for your stay at National Harbor. You’ll also get incredible views of the Ferris wheel by the harbor. This is the perfect weekend hotel; the rooms are modern and spacious. You’ll appreciate the heated pool, especially during the cooler months. The onsite restaurant, Sauciety, is one of the best in the area. You can enjoy American favorites without ever having to leave your hotel. But if you ever get hungry for other cuisines, there are plenty of other amazing options just around the corner.

MGM National Harbor

The MGM National Harbor offers some pretty amazing panoramic views of the Potomac. It’s not right by the river, but it’s close enough. This property offers luxury accommodations like no other. The staff is equally as impressive. Of course, the hotel has an incredible casino, and it’s also a great location for other events such as concerts. The Ginger Restaurant is an absolute must here, as well as the stunning pool with a view. If you’re coming to National Harbor to party, you definitely have to stay at the MGM. You’ll definitely feel west coast Vegas vibes, which is incredible against the backdrop of the Potomac and Washington D.C.

Hampton Inn & Suites National Harbor

It may not be the most luxurious option out there, but Hampton Inn is a no-fail option. This particular property is always clean, and the service is always great. There’s always coffee available, and breakfast is always included. You’ll enjoy the National Harbor area here, but the hotel is also a nice gateway to the Washington D.C. area as well. The fitness center and business center are both open 24 hours a day. You’ll be surrounded by plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment in the area. If you’re looking to save a few bucks on a hotel room in the area, the Hampton Inn is definitely a viable option.
