The Five Best Hotels in Sanibel Island

If you’re traveling to Sanibel Island, there might be a number of reasons that you decide to go there. Maybe you decided that it’s finally time to take that long-awaited vacation and you’ve always wanted to visit a place like this. Maybe you’re a seasoned traveler and you just wanted to go somewhere that was unique instead of visiting yet another location that’s a cookie cutter example of the last three or four places you’ve already seen. Whatever your case might be, you’re sure to enjoy Sanibel Island. Needless to say, you’ll enjoy it even more if you pick the perfect place to stay. Below are five of the more interesting places that you can decide to stay at during your visit. The one you choose will undoubtedly depend on your personality and what you’re looking for in a resort. Nevertheless, you would probably be equally as happy with any of these options.

Kona Kai Motel

If you really want to get into the spirit of the island, this is a great way to do it. It’s not really about luxury in this case, but about simplicity. That has its own beauty in and of itself. Here, you can find a place to lay your head after a day full of activities that’s clean and unassuming, nestled directly in the same vast atmosphere that you probably spent your day exploring. It gives you a sense of remoteness in the best possible manner. They have a magnificent barbecue pit and the facility even features free Wi-Fi, something that’s relatively rare when it comes to staying in a place this remote.

Sanibel Island Beach Resort

This is a great option whether you’re visiting the island for pleasure or traveling there for business. If you just so happen to have a job that allows you to travel to such locations for business, this resort has a great space that’s large enough to work as a meeting room. It also has a pool, exceptional food, and its own tennis courts. If you’re looking for a place that has an outstanding staff that puts your needs at the forefront, this is it.

Sanibel Island Inn

This facility provides beach living at its finest. The exterior is rather unassuming, but that only adds to its charm as a beach resort. There are many things about this facility that make it unique. You can rent a quaint little cottage right on the beach and then go fishing on the dock attached to the building. They even provide free gear for anybody that wants to have an experience on the beach. That’s something that’s practically unheard of. If swimming in a more controlled environment is your style, you also have access to a swimming pool.

 Sanibel Arms West

This is definitely one of the more upscale facilities in the area and it’s located in one of the most beautiful areas on the entire island. Here, you can rent a condo that has not one, but two bedrooms so you have space all your own. You also have access to other amenities like a swimming pool, a boat dock, and even tennis courts. If you want to kick things up a notch and you enjoy your privacy, it’s hard to beat this particular facility.

Song of the Sea

This facility is a little bit different because it operates as more of a bed-and-breakfast than anything else. You can reserve a suite that has its own screened-in patio and you even get a bottle of wine that’s complementary just for staying there. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, this just might be place you’ve been searching for all along.

There’s no doubt about it, you can find something that fits your needs whenever you plan to travel to Sanibel Island. The most important thing to remember is that while it’s nice to have certain amenities where you’re staying, a trip to the island really isn’t about simply locking yourself away in a room. There are so many things to see and do and experiences to be had that the place where you stay almost becomes secondary. With that being said, there are plenty of places on Sanibel Island that only serve to enhance that experience.
