The Five Best Nissan Rogue Models of All-Time
The Nissan Rogue is an extremely popular SUV that’s been in production since the 2008 model year. It’s billed as a 5-door SUV and it has more than enough space to fit five people comfortably with plenty of extra space in the cargo hatch. Some people have even gone as far as saying that this particular model actually saved Nissan’s reputation and perhaps even kept them out of financial hot water. That said, it only stands to reason that there will be some models that are better than others, especially when there has been such a long production history. Below are five of the best Nissan Rogue models of all time. Perhaps you actually own one of these particular models. On the other hand, you might be in the market for a used vehicle. If so, this could potentially point you in the right direction.
5. 2018 Nissan Rogue SV
When it comes to disseminating which particular model year is best with the Nissan Rogue, the 2018 is one that is commonly mentioned before any others. There are a number of reasons for this. For one thing, the infamous transmission problems that are associated with some of the other models have been largely corrected by the time that the 2018 model came along. At the same time, the car is recent enough that it offers all of the modern-day technology features that most drivers have become so accustomed to using. That includes a collision avoidance system, a full-sized touch screen display and an information system that is so detailed it can even tell you whether or not the road you are about to travel over is paved. It also offers heated front seats, lumbar support and a driver’s seat that is capable of being adjusted automatically to suit each individual’s needs. The car can also be purchased as an all-wheel-drive mode, something that a lot of SUV drivers are keen on having.
4. 2012 Nissan Rogue S
If you’re on a budget, this is definitely one of your better options. The 2012 Nissan Rogue S is one of the most loved models of all time. As far as the way it handles, it’s very similar to the more recent models and has even been likened to being almost identical to the 2018 model. Of course, it doesn’t have all of the technical features that are on later models, as many of them weren’t even invented at the time that this particular model was built. It was one of the models with the transmission issues that some Rogues are known for, but the good news is that it’s fairly easy to find one that has a rebuilt transmission, effectively allowing you to circumvent that problem. If you can find one, you’re likely to get a vehicle that drives well, handles responsively and seats at least five people comfortably without spending a fortune in the process. These cars are capable of going 100,000 or even 300,000. You can usually get your hands on a 2012 model for somewhere around $10,000. They don’t accelerate quite as quickly as some of the newer models, but they get reasonably good gas mileage for an SUV, typically about 25 miles per gallon.
3. 2015 Nissan Rogue S
If you’re looking for a Nissan Rogue that incorporates the current body style and most of the technical features you can find on a new car without the price to go with a new one, it’s hard to beat the 2015 Nissan Rogue S. It doesn’t have all of the same trim features as the SL, so you won’t find an eight-way adjustable seat, nor will you find heated front seats. Nevertheless, the car offers a solid ride and plenty of room with GPS navigation, the ability to integrate your smartphone into the speaker system and the more popular front-end design that newer models currently feature. It does have the continuous variable transmission, which is the one that most people try to avoid with the Nissan Rogue. However, it’s conceivable that you could find one that already has a rebuilt transmission, much like the 2012 model. If you can, you’ll probably get it for a bargain price and have a reliable vehicle that you can drive for years to come. Better still, one that has been well maintained will allow you to ride in comfort, even when you have a lot of people or a lot of cargo to haul around.
2. 2020 Nissan Rogue SL
Of course, you might be in the mood for a newer model. Perhaps you simply aren’t in the habit of inheriting someone else’s problems that naturally come with purchasing a used vehicle. That said, you might be more receptive to the idea of purchasing a used vehicle if you could find one that was a bit more recent. That’s where the 2020 Nissan Rogue SL comes in. It’s capable of getting excellent gas mileage for an SUV, as much as 33 miles per gallon. It also provides a comfortable ride and is capable of towing a little over 1,000 pounds with relative ease. Of course, it has all of the technology and safety features that you could ever hope for, as Nissan places a premium on both of these things.
1. 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum
If you’re looking for something that offers you the latest in comfort, technology and safety, this is it. This is the most exclusive and most expensive trim option that Nissan offers with the Rogue, but it still doesn’t make the price much more than you would expect to pay for any other brand new SUV. In fact, you can have one for about $35,000. With this option, you have some additional exterior color options available to you as well as leather interior complete with all the bells and whistles that you could even imagine. Gas mileage is about the same as the 2020 model, at 34 miles per gallon on the highway. In the city, you can expect that number to go down slightly, to about 23 miles per gallon. This vehicle is capable of Towing 1,300 pounds and it has 181 horsepower. You can also read:
