When you hear or see the name “Oakley,” you automatically think sunglasses, and with good reason. However, the Oakley brand has done an exceptional job of entering the watch manufacturing industry, experiencing some phenomenal success. If you are like me, you love a good watch. When it comes to fashion, I have really scaled back what is important to me. I am good with t-shirts and jeans or a nice pair of warmups or jogging pants, but I love watches, shoes, and caps. Oakley has built a strong presence in the world activity, sponsoring some of the top golfers, swimmers, and tennis players in the world. But, the world of timekeeping is a different animal, and yet they seem to have mastered it.
If you are not familiar with the Oakley line of watches, this is your lucky day. Following is a list of the five best Oakley watches currently on the market. I am sure that you will find one out of the bunch that you like.
Oakley Men’s 10-062 “Gearbox” Stainless Steel Watch
This gorgeous watch is one of the pride of the Oakley collection. The stainless steel frame ensures that the durability of this beautiful timepiece never comes into question. The design is sturdy and bold — presenting a large profile that is becoming common in many watch designs. While it is simple, the bold aesthetic statement that this watch makes would not qualify it to be considered part of the minimalist movement.
Oakley Men’s 10-228 Holeshot Stealth Unobtainium Limited
The name of this watch alone earns it a spot on the list. This contemporary spots design is a pure representation of the heritage of the Oakley brand. Its rugged appearance has more than aesthetic value. In addition to possessing a rugged exterior, this watch has a water resistance up to 100 meters (330ft) — making ideal for snorkeling and swimming. I would not classify it as a diving watch. In fact, I would not shop Oakley for an authentic high-performing diving watch, but they have plenty to offer in the way of sports watches that offer style and fashion. The Swiss quartz movement guarantees the accuracy of the timekeeping of this watch.
Oakley Men’s 10-071 12 Gauge Titanium Watch
If had to choose a single theme that most ideally described the watches that Oakley makes, it would be durable. Every watch on this list is built to take the hits common to a high-activity lifestyle and never miss a beat. This two-tone monster is no different. The accuracy of the watch is guaranteed through Swiss movement — meaning you will never be late for t-time or that important meeting. The frame is made of titanium and carbon fiber, and the crystal is sapphire with a protective coating that makes it scratch resistant.
Oakley Men’s 10-127 Holeshot Stealth Unobtainium Limited
Here is another watch form Oakleys Holeshot line, which is probably its most possible model. Similar to the 10-228, this watch brings a little bit more to the table in the way of style and fashion. It still maintains the rugged appearance and durability; however, the sleek black rubber band and the black and red dial make this watch stand out. It has the ability to serve as a sports watch, or you can throw it on with a nice suit. As with most of the Oakley watches, and all of the ones listed here, the precision of Swiss quartz time is at the core of the accuracy provided by this watch.
Oakley Men’s 10-254 Minute Machine Titanium Bracelet Edition
This watch made the top of the list for several reasons. The first reason that it deserves the top spot is it is the only one that is more fashionable than it is sporty. Looking at this watch, there is nothing about it that connects it to the other watches. You would not look at this watch as guess that it was made by Oakley. But, don’t make the mistake of assuming that this watch is delicate in any way. The titanium frame and bracelet ensure its durability. The mauve and black dial definitely add flair to the design and the square face adds a bit of nostalgia. If you are looking for a watch that is durable and versatile, this is a good place to start looking.
