How Bobby Flay Achieved a Net Worth of $30 Million

Bobby Flay is a famous television personality who is known for his many television food programs. He’s an American restaurateur and celebrity chef. He’s hosted a variety of TV programs and he’s built a fortune that is worth $30 million, but how did he get so rich? We looked into his fabulous career and here is what we learned.

His early career

Bobby Flay left high school when he was just 17 years old. He didn’t complete his studies. He took a job at a local Baskin-Robbins ice cream parlor as well as a job at a pizza restaurant. This is how he got his start in the food industry. Although it seems unlikely that a high school dropout will rise to heights of fame and wealth, that is precisely what he has done.

Hard work and pursuing a passion pays off

Bobby knows the value of hard work, but he also has a passion for food, and talents as a chef to go along with his love of the discipline. He continued to work hard and to hone his craft until in 1991, he was able to open his first restaurant. It was called the Mesa Grill and the first was opened in New York City. It was only two years until he was able to open his second eatery in Bolo, New York. By 2004, Flay was in a position to open a chain of Mesa Grill locations and he established locations in Las Vegas in Atlantis. During this era, his Bolo location closed and he followed through with a new restaurant that he called Bobby’s Burger Palace in 2008. He closed the Mesa Grill in New York City in 2013 and opened up with Gato the next year.

His television shows

Bobby had proven his culinary talents and he had done well in the restaurant business, but there was much more out there for him. He was given his own television shows on The Food Network and this gave him even more exposure to foodies. He appeared as chef on “Great Chefs Great Cities,” Great Chefs Cook Aerican,” “Boy Meets Grill,” “Brunch at Bobby’s” and “Beat Bobby Flay.” He became a very famous celebrity chef and he was invited to appear o a variety of other television shows including “Portlandia,” and “Entourage.” Flay was also the host of a Sirius XM Satellite Radio show that aired weekly.

He’s also an author

Bobby has had a lot of interesting experiences through his lifetime and his career in the food industry. He’s learned a lot and has some important things to share with the world. He has written a total of 12 cookbooks which have been published and are available for sale. His first cookbook was titled “Bobby Flay’s Bold American Food.” The book came out in 1994 and sells for approximately $29. The majority of recipes in his cookbooks deal with Southwestern and Mexican style grilling which is his area of expertise.

He also wrote a cookbook called “Bobby Flay Fit: 200 Recipes for a Healthy Lifestyle.” This book is for sale for a price of $17 through the Amazon.com marketplace. He’s brought in a good income through his writing alone.

He’s come a long way since taking his first job at an ice cream store.
