Itzler was dedicated to becoming a successful rapper. He is also a songwriter who used his talent to become successful in the music industry. H signed with Delicious Vinyl releasing his debut album in 1991 titled “Thirty feet in your face.” He didn’t use his real name for his rapping career. Instead, his album was released under Jesse James. His single release of “Shake it Like a White Girl” gained notoriety and established his music career in the pop genre of the industry. The single was featured in the popular film “White Chicks” released in 2004. Itzler enjoyed success in music co-writing songs for a variety of different artists.

Itzler collaborated with more than 50 artists on projects and songs. His successful music career provided a segue into other areas of business. His song “I Love This Game” written for “Inside the NBA” won an Emmy Award. H worked with National Ball Association Music on this project that was well received. After successful collaborations with various record labels, Itzler founded his own record company in 1996. He and partner Kenny Ditcher launched Alphabet City Sports Records. They wrote and produced several arena songs. Their record company collaborated on several campaigns with big-name brands including Coca-Cola, Foot Locker, and others. The pair sold the label for $4 million to SFX with the agreement that they would each receive a percentage of earnings from the company. The company was sold in 1998, just 2 years after its launch.

Itzler was already well known in sports circles and music when he and Ditcher co-founded a company called Marquis Jets in 2001. The business provided jet cards. The two didn’t have enough funding to get the company off the ground. He called on a man named Jim Jacobs who owed him a favor, and Jacobs arranged a meeting with Net Jets (he was the president of the company), to sanction his new company to sell 25 hours of flight time annually on the company’s Marquis Jet’s jet card. They agreed and within nine years the company had earned $5 billion. Itzler served as vice chairman of Marquis Jets before selling the business to Berkshire Hathaway. In 2009 Itzler got into running marathons. He ran the 100-mile run while partnering with Zico coconut water in a celebrity endorsement of the brand that helped to increase his wealth and gain more exposure in marketing and business strategies. Both parties benefited from the venture. In 2015, Itzler and his wife Sara bought the Atlanta Hawks sports team in a group purchase with other businessmen and women for $850 million.
