10 Things You Didn’t Know About L3 Technologies CEO Chris Kubasik

Chris Kubasik is the current President, Director, and Chief Executive Officer at L3 Technologies, which is a provider of global ISR communications and networked systems. They also provide electronic systems for commercial aviation, military, and homeland security customers. Kubasik has over 30 years of experience of working in this industry and has worked in many executive positions. These have included executive positions at Lockheed Martin Corporation and at Ernst & Young. He has worked at L3 Communications since 2015. Although he is well known in business circles, there are many things that people do not know about this executive. Here are ten things that you probably didn’t know about Chris Kubasik.

1. He Is a Family Man

Although he has a successful career, he is also a family man and enjoys spending time with his family whenever possible. He is married to Jane and they have four children together; Kevin, Lindsay, Brian, and Sarah.

2. Kubasik is a Big Sports Fan

In his free time, Kubasik likes to play a round of golf and to keep fit. He also likes to attend sporting events. He mainly supports Maryland teams, such as the Washington Wizards, the Redskins, and the University of Maryland Terrapins.

3. He is on the Board of Directors of the USO

Kubasik has been a supporter of the United Services Organisation {USO} for many years. This is a non-profit charitable organization that provides entertainment for members of the United States Armed Forces and their families. Due to his long-time support of the organization, Kubasik was invited onto the organization’s Board of Directors. Following his resignation, he received a separation payment of $3.5 million.

4. He Has an Eight-Figure Salary

As the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of L3 Technologies, Chris Kubasik earns an eight-figure salary. It is reported that his annual salary is $10,944,600, with only one executive earning a higher salary.

5. He Was Forced to Resign from Lockheed Martin

Chris Kubasik was set to become the CEO of Lockheed Martin when it was discovered he had been having a long-term affair with a subordinate employee. The leadership team at Lockheed Martin said that his actions were in direct contrast to the ethical values of the company and the situation led to Kubasik’s resignation from the company. The female employee with whom he had the affair is also no longer with the company.

6. He Bought a Condo for $1.6 Million in 2014

Chris Kubasik and his wife Jane sold their home in Potomac for $1.5 million in October 2013. In January 2014, they invested $1.6 million in a condo in Lionsgate. The condo is part of a high-rise building located on Woodmont Avenue and it is only four miles from Bethesda. Kubasik also has property in New York City.

7. He Had His Own Consultancy Firm

Following his resignation from Lockheed Martin, Kubasik joined the Board of Directors for many organizations. He also became a consultant for many firms, giving them financial, operational, and strategic advice. He did this via his own consultancy firm, Ackuity Advisors LLC. He founded this consultancy firm in 2013. Although the business does not have a web page, it is registered to an address in Las Vegas, Nevada.

8. He Is a Boy Scouts Leader

For many years, Chris Kubasik has been a Boy Scouts leader for the Boy Scouts of America; a role that he takes extremely seriously. Kubasik has his own blog and has used this to post about the benefits of scouting with the Boy Scouts of America. He believes that boys who join this organization will become productive and thoughtful members of society.

9. He Has a Degree in Accounting

Kubasik always planned a career in finance and business, and this is evident because he chose to study for a bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of Maryland’s School of Business. He earned his degree Magna Cum Laude in 1983. He later attended Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business to study for the Executive Program.

10. Kubasik Enjoys Traveling

Chris Kubasik has listed traveling as one of his interests in many interviews. This is something that he enjoys doing with his wife and family. On his resume, he also lists philanthropy as a further interest outside of his working life.
