A Closer Look at The Nike Kyrie Low 3

Nike Kyrie Low 3

Nike sneaker enthusiasts who prefer a low top silhouette were thrilled when the announcement was made for the launch of the Kyrie Low 3. The shoe made its debut on July 1, 2020, and it’s already flying off of the shelves. If you’re not yet familiar with this low hooping shoe for summer, here are 10 things you didn’t know about the Nike Kyrie Low 3.

1. It’s a Kyrie Irving design

For some, all they will need to know is that Kyrie Irving has joined forces with the Nike brand to endorse this new sneaker. The designer on board for creating the silhouette is Ben Nethongkome. The design combines some elements of the Kyrie Low 2 that was released last summer including the traction pattern on the outsole, and the mid-foot strap carried over from the Kyrie 6.

2. It’s a simple and neutral colorway with a summer theme

The Kyrie Low 3 is a very basic white low-top sneaker with black accents. It’s light and airy which makes it perfect for the summer months. Further evidence of this intention is the symbol of the sun on the heel with KI to give a nod to Kyrie Irving on the tongue imparting small yellow accents for a splash of color.

3. They glow in the dark

To further enhance this simple sneaker, the design team gave it an extra dose of radiance. The outsole of the Kyrie Low 3 is made of a material that glows in the dark. When you’re strolling down the sidewalk at night, you’ll be hard to miss. This is an especially cool feature for the kids who are thrilled with anything that glows in the dark. For adults, the glow in the dark feature is a suggestion of Kyrie’s thoughts on enlightenment and maintaining a state of being awake.

4. The Kyrie Low 3’s are breathable

In line with the summer theme, the Kyrie Low 3 sneakers have a unique construction that lets you know at the first glance that they’re well-ventilated. The upper portion of the shoes is made with an attractive white mesh laid over black. This clever ventilation system allows plenty of air to circulate over the tops of the arches of your feet. This prevents hot feet and the discomfort that comes with sweating.

5. This sneaker is made of premium materials

The first thing that we noticed about the Nike Kyrie Low 3 is the mesh covering the major part of the upper. It’s also reinforced with premium leather material. Nike achieved a design that blends leather material for strength, support, and durability, with synthetics that make it breathable. This is a premium quality sneaker that is made to hold up under the stress of the game.

6. The lacing system is unique

You can achieve a perfect level of snugness, thanks to the lacing system. Premium quality eyelets hold the laces firmly in place. The lace guard that covers the row of laces is borrowed from the Kyrie 6 design and it works very well with this model to add a clean and crisp aesthetic.

7. For a simple sneaker, the design is complex

When you view the Kyrie Low 3 from the top or front it appears to be a simple and straightforward sneaker with a really cool lace guard over the top. When you view it from the side, the shoe takes on a whole new personality. The strong leather material that is used for the lace guard continues over to the side. It creates an overlay. Similar material was used to create a design on the side of the shoe and the second layer of ornate white material creates a rather intricate design that makes the sneaker look more like a work of art from the side view.

8. The logo is uniquely applied

The Nike Kyrie Low 3 is an artsy sneaker that makes good use of basic white and accents of black. The traditional Nike swoosh logo is also presented in a bit of a nontraditional manner. The Swoosh is applied in a sketch pattern on one side that gives this shoe a really cool aesthetic. On the other side, it’s applied in an outline of black with white in the center. In addition to all of the other symbolism that we can observe in the design, there is also the sense of yin and yang because of the artistic application of the white and black colors. It’s a well-balanced sneaker that is truly a pleasure to observe. The color scheme makes it a lifestyle shoe that will work with a variety of different wardrobe choices, but it is also suitable for use on the basketball court.

9. The Kyrie Low 3 is responsive

The Kyrie Low 3 is made for play on the court with a design that makes the shoe responsive to the natural movements of your body. Your feet are free to engage in precision movements with a little extra zing. Nike built in a low profile Zoom Air unit at the heel of the sneaker to make it responsive yet comfortable to ensure that you get a return of energy with every step you take.

10. The Kyrie Low 3 is a dynamic shoe

There are a few more features that are worthy of highlighting for serious basketball players. The Kyrie Low 3 is constructed with a curved outsole for exceptional traction as well as independent suspension pods. This allows you to play at any angle with total control over the movement of your feet. It’s also made with Flywire cables that integrate with a forefoot band for the ultimate in support. The design also allows you to achieve a customized fit with dialed in snugness to give you total control to enhance your game. You get all of this in a simple yet aesthetically pleasing sneaker.
