How Phaedra Parks Achieved a Net Worth of $6 Million

Phaedra Parks

People sometimes have a misconception about individuals who have made a name for themselves in the public eye, especially one that involves anything related to television. Take Phaedra Parks for example. She is an attorney by trade, but she has also become quite famous as part of the cast of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” As a matter of fact, she’s done so well for herself that she now has a net worth of about $6 million. That’s a very respectable sum, there’s no doubt about that. If you want to know how she’s made her money, you’re in for a real treat because it’s definitely not what you might consider a traditional route for someone appearing on a reality television show.

The Most Obvious Thing

The most obvious thing when it comes to her making money is probably her appearance on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” After all, that’s what has allowed her to become a celebrity, if you will and in some cases, even a household name. At the same time, she definitely makes money from doing the show. That contributes to her net worth. Since that is what most people know her for, it’s important to look at that first. It’s not known exactly how much money she made from her appearances on the show, but what is known is that she had a rather long run with it. She started at the beginning of season 3 and was consistently with the show all the way through the end of season 9. That’s when she was fired from the show for spreading rumors about two other people that also appeared on the show which have since been made public. The rumors are too shocking to be discussed here, but if you’re so inclined to find out exactly what they were about, you’ll certainly have no trouble looking it up online. It’s been well-publicized. Besides, if you watch the show, you probably already know.

Her Work as an Attorney

The thing that truly shocked most people more than anything when she confessed to spreading these rumors was the fact that she was the one responsible for the whole debacle. She has been a longtime attorney in the Atlanta area and is a partner in what is considered one of the most influential law groups in the area, the Parks Group. Traditionally, she specialized in entertainment law, helping other celebrities through different types of litigation while simultaneously helping them manage their contracts. However, she’s also well-versed in both criminal and civil litigation. That’s precisely why so many people were shocked at her actions while on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” It simply didn’t make sense for a well-established, popular attorney the start rumors and make allegations that simply weren’t true, all for the sake of creating drama on a reality television show. In fact, many people thought that the entire thing was scripted and that she was simply playing her part as agreed. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, as she has since confessed to starting these rumors and being solely responsible for creating them of her own volition.

Legal Analyst

Considering the type of law that she practices, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that she’s also been a featured legal analyst for a number of television shows geared toward celebrity news such as “Entertainment Tonight” and “Extra”. However, that’s not where her work as a legal analyst ends. In fact, she’s also worked in that same capacity for such well-known news sites as NBC News and Fox News. She’s also spent more than her fair share of time on the Advisory Board for the American Bar Association, thereby proving both her ability and her status as a well-known and well-respected attorney.

Additional Activities

To say that Parks stays busy would be an understatement, to say the least. In addition to all of the aforementioned activities, she’s also a successful author, having written a book entitled “Secrets of the Southern Belle: How to Be Nice, Work Hard, Look Pretty, Have Fun and Never Have a Moment Off.” That’s quite a mouthful, but it’s nothing compared to her schedule. When she’s not touring the country as part of her book tour, she’s traveling around as a motivational speaker. In fact, she’s been known to speak on everything from issues related to legal matters to self motivation. Last but not least, she is also surprisingly a licensed funeral director. As if she doesn’t already have enough on her plate, she plans to open a funeral home in the Atlanta area, which would obviously increase her net worth to a certain extent. Parks also lives in a home worth $3.7 million in the Atlanta area, which dramatically contributes to her net worth as well.

As previously mentioned, it’s not known exactly how much money she makes from each of her endeavors, but it is estimated that her annual salary from all things combined is approximately $300,000. That may not sound like a lot of money by celebrity standards, but it’s still more money than most people can ever hope to make in a single year and it’s more than some will make in their entire lifetime. When you add in her annual salary with other assets, such as the home that’s worth almost $4 million, it’s easy to understand how she has achieved a net worth of $6 million. As busy as she always seems to be, there’s every reason to believe that she will add to that net worth significantly over the next several years. Who knows, she might even find herself participating in another reality television show. She’s already done one reunion show for “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and she claims to be open to the possibility of doing more, especially if she feels like the right opportunity presents itself.
