How Quavo Achieved a Net Worth of $16 Million

Quavo

Quavo, whose real name is Quavious Keyate Marshall, is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Best known as part of the hip-hop trio Migos, this celebrity is also a solo artist and he has collaborated with many other acts. His success in the music industry has led him to achieve an estimated net worth of $16 million. So, how did Quavo become so rich?

This artist was born on April 2, 1991, in Athens, Georgia. He grew up with the other members of Migos, Takeoff and Offset, as they are family members who lived in the same suburban neighborhood in Georgia. He attended Berkmar High School, where he was a talented football player and a member of the school football team. However, his major passion was music.

He quit school just months before graduating and formed Migos in 2008 with his nephew, Takeoff, and his cousin, Offset. They were originally called Polo Club but changed their name after deciding it was too generic. Although the group was formed in 2008, they did not release their first mixed tape, ‘Juug Season’, until 2011. Things soon took off for the group as their first mixed tape was closely followed by a second mixed tape, which they released in 2012.

The group eventually rose to prominence after releasing their single ‘Versace’ in 2013. This track peaked at number 31 on the Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop Songs chart. In the same year, Quavo became known as a solo artist as he recorded the single ‘Champions’, a track which featured several other artists. This was just the beginning of his career both with Migos and as a solo artist.

Migos continued to rise in prominence and their second album, ‘Culture’ was particularly successful. In fact, this album reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. This success attracted interest in Quavo and other artists wanted to collaborate with him. It led to him featuring on several songs that were popular. These included ‘Strip That Down’, ‘I’m the One’, ‘Congratulations’, and ‘Portland’.

Migos released their third studio album ‘Culture II’ in January 2018. While much of Quavo’s financial success has come from sales of his singles and albums with Migos, his collaborative work and his work as a solo artist have also contributed to his estimated net worth of $300 million.

One of his biggest successes in terms of collaborative work was with Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert. Quavo had previously collaborated with Travis Scott in a Young Thug collaboration called ‘Pick Up the Phone’. Scott and Quavo then collaborated with Lil Uzi Vert on the 2017 album ‘The Fate of the Furious’. Quavo features in the single ‘Go Off’ on this album.

Scott and Quavo went on to collaborate with each other again on the 2017 album ‘Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho’. Without any promotion of the album, eight of the singles from the album debuted on the Billboard Hot 100. In the same year, Quavo had collaborated with Lil Yachty on the single ‘Ice Tray’.

Following his success with Migos and his collaborative work, Quavo has gone on to forge a successful career as a solo artist. He has released three singles so far; ‘Workin Me’, ‘Lamb Talk’, and ‘Bubble Gum’. These will also feature on his debut solo album. The most successful of these singles was ‘Working Me’ as it peaked at number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Although he has enjoyed great success in his professional career, he has experienced many problems in his personal life. In recent years, he has faced several legal issues. A 2015 Migos concert was drawn to a holt by the police and they arrested all three members of the group along and several members of the group’s entourage. Following this incident, Quavos was charged with possess of drugs and possession of a firearm. Although he received a 12-month jail sentence, this was suspended after he paid the fines.

Despite the problems with his personal life, this has not stopped Quavos from becoming a massive success and achieving a personal net worth of $16 million. As he continues to enjoy popularity, both with Migos and as a solo artist, it is likely that his success will grow. Over the next few years, it is expected that Quavo’s personal net worth will see significant growth.
