His first big break

Woods adopted the professional name Lil Uzi Vert and put his talent as a rapper to use making mixtapes. His first mixtape release came out in 2014 and “The Real Uzi” was his musical introduction to the world of rap. It was followed by “Luv is Rage” in 2015. The music attracted established artists who were happy to perform them for their own audiences and it helped to spread the news that there was a new talent afoot.

His first appearance individual “Money Longer” along got the attention of Don Cannon who heard one of his songs being played on the radio.
