His first big break

Woods adopted the professional name Lil Uzi Vert and put his talent as a rapper to use making mixtapes. His first mixtape release came out in 2014 and "The Real Uzi" was his musical introduction to the world of rap. It was followed by "Luv is Rage" in 2015. The music attracted established artists who were happy to perform them for their own audiences and it helped to spread the news that there was a new talent afoot.

His first appearance individual "Money Longer" along got the attention of Don Cannon who heard one of his songs being played on the radio. DJ Diamond Kuts performed one of Uzi's songs and it caught Cannon's attention. After discovery, it didn't take long for Lil Uzi be on the Billboard 200 Collections Graph with his debut studio recording with "Luv Is Rage 2" which reached the number one position on the charts. Within two short years, he began to realize his dreams and the right people were coming to him.

Just the beginning

Lil Uzi Vert had hit the ground running and continued on releasing mixtapes including "Lil lUzi Vert vs. the World" followed by "The Perfect Luv Tape" both in 2016, followed by "Luv is Rage 2" in 2017. He joined forces with Migos on "Band and Boujee" which was another tune that hit the US Billboard Hot 100 and earned the Hot 100 number-one-individual spot, which is no small feat when you consider the competition he's been up against for ratings. Of all the talented young upstarts, Lil Uzi topped them all.

From doing his own thing to record label

Uzi got another big break after being presented on the Carnage individual "WDYW" along with Rich the Kid and ASAP Ferg in 2015. All he really needed was someone to give his music a chance because the public would decide and his work was well-received. It was like unearthing a rare diamond and once revealed the listeners wanted more and more. Lil Uzi was certainly willing to oblige them. Cannon saw to it that he was hooked up with Leighton Morrison's history label Creation Now and Atlantic Records, which was a big-time event in the career of the rising star.

Link with big names in the business

When Uzi's third Mixtape, "Luv is Rage" in 2015, it launched with a Don Cannon song, TM88, DP BEats, Sonny Electrik, FKi, Maaly Raw and several others. Visitors Wiz Khalifa and Young Thug were also involved in the launch. By the spring of 2016, "Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World" launched as his fourth mixtape with the help of Metro Boomin, WondaGurl, Don Cannon, Smatt Certified, M-Trax and others. Ferriss jumped on board for coverage art development. His fifth mixtape came out in 2016 titled "The Perfect Luv Tape" and the artist was on a roll that gave him a high career trajectory. Success was coming fast for the young artist. On his 22nd birthday, he presented Future in the music "Seven Million."

A big solo song for Uzi

In March of 2017, a new launch was presented in his individual "XO Tour Llif3" which was taken from his Luv Is Rage 1.5 EP. It was a huge success, even though there were some delays on his first studio record "Luv Is age 2." It was a chartbuster.

His inspirations

When asked who inspired his music, Lil Uzi shared that he enjoyed the music of the group Paramore and said that Hayley Williams, frontwoman of the band had a major impact on his music. He went on to say that Marilyn Manson gave him the most motivation. Others that are high on Uzi's inspirational list include Young Thug, Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, ASAP Rocky, Ying Yang Twins, and Lil Wayne. His fabulous net wealth has been gained strictly through his involvement in the music industry, but this is just the beginning for Lil Uzi Vert, and he's off to a good start.
