We’ve researched the Forbes list of wealthiest sports team owners to arrive at a list of the top ten richest NBA owners ranking in the highest valuation of net worth for your enjoyment.

10. James Dolan – $1.9 billion

James Dolan is the owner of the New York Knicks. He is the founder as well as the Chair for the Madison Square Garden company. Mr. Dolan is reputed for his skills at mismanagement but with a value of $1.9 billion, he still has to be doing something right. The team has been on a losing streak that dates back approximately a decade and many point the finger towards James Dolan and the way that he has managed the team.

Mark Cuban is the ninth richest NBA owner and his team is the Dallas Mavericks. The net worth of his team is estimated to be at $3.2 billion. He’s actively involved in promoting the team with blogs that discuss technical aspects of the game. He entered the world of sports club ownership in the year 2000.

8. Tom Gores – $3.9 billion

Tom Gores is the owner of the Detroit Pistons. He is in charge of the management of over 25 companies. He is currently the CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors of Platinum Equity. He is an avid sports enthusiast and Tom Gores remains active in promoting the best interests of the team, as well as enjoying very much his involvement in the sport. The valuation of the Detroit Pistons is currently at $3.9 billion

Mikhail Prokhorov is the owner of the Brooklyn Nets team. Since assuming ownership of the team, they have reached the sky with their successes. Mr. Prokhorov is the founder of the company ONEXIM Group and he is a leading stakeholder in a variety of Russian companies involving power, banking, aluminum and insurance.

Steve Ballmer is the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. He is the Wealthiest NBA team owner currently. His estimated net wealth is $44.5 billion making him the richest in our list. Mr. Ballmer is a former CEO of the Microsoft Corporation.
