10 Things You Didn't Know about Rohit Chennamaneni

Rohit Chennamaneni

What do you know about Rohit Chennemaneni? Maybe you already know that he’s the CEO of software company Darwinbox. Undoubtedly, some of you are scratching your heads because you’ve never even heard of his name. If nothing else, you might be interested in learning more about the man who had a hand in developing something called Darwinbox, as the name itself is interesting enough to make most people take a second look. If you want to know more, here are 10 things about him you might like to know.

1. He used to work for Google

You might say that he cut his teeth at what many people consider to be one of the most well-known places for technological development and digitization in the world, Google. In fact, he worked for them for some time, coming up through the ranks and learning about various technological advancements. Eventually, he started leading these types of teams, being put in charge of entire departments that were tasked with developing new technologies that didn't exist only a few short years before.

2. He loves to travel

There's no doubt about the fact that he loves to travel. In fact, he has always commented that the most well-rounded individuals are those who have the opportunity to see the world because it gives them the chance to see how various cultures live as opposed to simply reading some distilled version out of a textbook. As a result, he has traveled to various parts of the world. While he has been to many different places in his native India, he's also been to places like Ireland. He also says that he loves both of these areas equally.

3. He turned that love into a way to make money

Like so many people, he turned his love of traveling into a way to make money, largely by transferring from one area to another in his professional life. This allowed him to see other parts of the world while still working. That way, he had an opportunity to completely immerse himself in the culture while simultaneously being paid for the work he was doing. As far as he was concerned, that was a much better option than traveling somewhere for a week or two, spending tons of money and coming back, having seen little more than the regular tourist traps that everyone else visits.

4. He’s always looked to the future when it comes to technology

There's no doubt about it, he's always had a tendency to look to the future when it comes to technology and its development. He doesn't tend to think about things in terms of what is possible right now, but instead he prefers to think about what might be possible in a few years. He sets his focus on developing usable technology that can serve a practical purpose in ways that haven't even been developed yet. In short, his goal is to help people by utilizing technology in different ways that people haven't yet thought of.

5. He used to work as an emergency manager

Before he got into his current position, he served as an emergency manager for another company, McKinsey. While he was in that role, he learned a great deal about cybersecurity and protecting not only assets for the company, but for their clients. It's knowledge that he says he will always take with him wherever he goes

6. He has an active role in his own company

He doesn't just sit around and watch what happens with his company while everyone else has an active role in its day-to-day operations, nor does he rely on someone else to give him a daily report about how things are going. The truth of the matter is that he not only co-founded the company, but he also serves as its current head of operations, a job that he takes very seriously. He wants to be involved because he needs to have a stake in how the company is operated. He says that he can't imagine simply sitting on the sidelines and letting someone else be in charge of it all.

7. He’s trusted by people who typically have trust issues

One of the things that really stands out about him is that people have a tendency to trust him, even those who have survived in business by not trusting many people at all. As a result, he's been deployed all over the world to head up various departments. Just a few of the places that he's been sent include the aforementioned Ireland, as well as Asia and the United States. Clearly, people see something in him that they don't typically see in a lot of people because they tend to let him hit the ground running and do what he does best without a great deal of oversight.

8. He’s versatile

If you think that he's worked in some type of technology department his entire life, you would be mistaken. As it turns out, he might be the most versatile man in business right now. He's worked in technology for much of his professional life, but he's also been in charge of human resources, sales and customer service. Clearly, he's one of those individuals that's capable of getting the job done, no matter where he's placed.

9. He’s extremely proud of his heritage

There is no doubt that he’s proud of his native India. In fact, he recently commented on social media about how much it means to him to be part of a movement that is seeing a number of businesses from that region rise to prominence. He has a genuine appreciation for cultures all over the world, but he also remembers his roots and celebrates his heritage.

10. He celebrates the victories of others

People like to be around those who champion others more than themselves. That’s something he learned a long time ago and he’s never forgotten it. As a result, he’s always quick to sing the praises of those he works alongside as opposed to bragging about his own accomplishments.
