A First Look at The Rolls-Royce Phantom Tempus

2021 Rolls Royce Phantom Tempus

Rolls-Royce has officially announced the debut of its latest limited edition model. Arguably one of the finest luxury automakers on the planet has extended to the Phantom line to include the Tempus Collection. Those who are familiar with Rolls understand that such releases are often made in limited or restricted numbers. The new 2021 Rolls Royce Phantom Tempus Collection will produce a strict limit of just 20 units for distribution throughout the world. The highly valuable luxury car made its debut in the United States in Southern California and we're privileged to get our first look through the eyes of those fortunate enough to behold the vehicle in person. Here is everything we know about the limited edition Phantom Tempus so far.

The debut of the 2021 Rolls Royce Phantom Tempus

According to Slash Gear, The new Phantom Tempus Collection features just 20 units in a choice of exterior colors. The car displayed at Southern California expose featured Crystal over Arctic White paint but it is also offered in a few other covers. Rolls announced that the Tempus will also be offered in numbered vehicles featuring the brand's Kairos Blue paint. It's also available in a black badging which is a signature color for Rolls Royce.

Customization is to the fore

The Crystal over Arctic White Phantom Tempus was purchased from Rolls-Royce as a customized edition, which Rolls is fond of providing for its elite clientele. The model was built to honor Mr. Glenn L. Moss Sr.'s 40th wedding anniversary to his beloved wife Gigi. It features a coach line hand-painted in black to represent the infinite nature of time and light. Other features of the special custom Phantom Tempus include a customized Pular headliner, white leather seats with custom piping, contrast stitching, black highlights, as well as special door treatments in the form of illuminated perforations.

What's under the hood of the 2021 Phantom Tempus

The new Phantom Tempus is a powerful car with performance to match its classy pedigree as a Rolls Royce. It's fully equipped with a 6.75-liter V12 twin-turbocharged engine which is standard fare in the Phantom. It cranks a generous 563 horsepower and the acceleration is also impressive with its 664 pound-feet of torque. The performance stats on record for the new Phantom Tempus show that it moves from zero to 60 mph in a mere 5.3 seconds.

All the bells and whistles via Rolls-Royce customization commitment

The 2021 Phantom Tempus is adorned with a signature hood ornament in the form of the Spirit of Ecstasy in solid silver. The customization also includes an engraving of the longitudinal coordinates of the place where the couple met for the first time in the year 1976, along with the date and the location. The second Phantom Tempus the couple ordered is a lovely bright Red with Crystal over a Dawn Black Badge with similar specifications on the hood ornament that detail their wedding date in 1981 with a Spirit of Ecstasy emblem in carbon fiber. The Dawn Black Badge order for Mrs. Moss is equipped with 22-inch wheels and 22 carbon fiber layers. The interior is finished with black highlights and piping on the full grain natural leather interior, hand-crafted nonetheless. The delivery was marked with a special ceremony to commemorate the happy event for the couple.

Details of the rare bespoke collection

Press Rolls, provides us with an overview of the 20 piece collection of the new Phantom limousine. We turn to the Kairos Blue paint option. The special paint is only available through Rolls-Royce and features the incorporation of flakes of mica that produce a sparkling effect that is reminiscent of a starry night sky.

We must emphasize that most components of the new Phantom Tempus are bespoke and assembled at the direction of the customer. This edition has reached a new pinnacle in luxury for Rolls Royce. The small details go beyond luxury into a sublime reality. An example is the Pulsar headliner that features intricate bespoke embroidery along with special fiber optic lighting. The columns are milled from black-anodized aluminum in a single billet with a hand-polished finish to the tune of 100 columns. The door linings of the Tempus are illuminated with intricate patterns of twisting and swirling illuminated perforations. Each new owner has the option of personalizing the Spirit of Ecstacy hood ornament with any location and date of their choosing.

Added value to say thanks

Each new owner is gifted with a Tempus Champagne Chest that is hand-painted. The accessory contains thermal flasks to be used to chill caviar and champagne for the distinguished occupants of the vehicle. Also included are four champagne flutes made of hand-blown crystal, a lovely detail, along with a unique caviar spoon made of mother of pearl material. As a final touch, the table features a pulsar artwork image that has been hand-painted.

Inspired by Einstein

2021 Rolls Royce Phantom Tempus 2

The 2021 Rolls Royce Phantom Tempus collection is inspired by none other than the late great Albert Einstein who contended that Time and the celestial phenomenon is a persistent illusion and it never stands still. The Tempus can cause time as we know it, to stand still. If only for a moment, sometimes that's enough. It's a work of sheer artistry and genius with the power to so captivating both driver and passenger, wrapping them in a new kind of luxury that seems to have few boundaries except for the imagination.

The collection is sold out

Rolls Royce made a habit of offering special limited-edition collections of their most rare creations with the full knowledge that each order would be filled before the first vehicle rolled off the production line. Each of the 20 bespoke models was previously allocated to their new owners in select locations around the earth. Fully customized versions for 20 of the most fortunate Rolls Royce clients, tailored to meet the specifications of their new owners, are within their possession.
