Colorado Springs is the largest city by area in Colorado and it is known for being surrounded by beautiful and diverse landscapes. There is a vast range of activities you can enjoy both in the city and the surrounding area during your stay. The activities available will suit people of all ages and with various interests. With such a choice of things to do, it is tricky to decide which attractions and activities you should include in your itinerary. Just a few of the wonderful places to visit are Red Rock Canyon Open Space, North Cheyenne Canon Park, Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Monument Valley Park, Rampart Reservoir, Ute Valley Park, and Fountain Creek Regional Park and Nature Center.

7. Spend Time at the Halls of Fame

There are two Halls of Fame in Colorado Springs, both of which are worth a visit. The first is the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame and the second is the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. It is possible to visit both of these attractions in one day.

8. Go to the Zoo

For both adults and children alike, a fun day out is the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. This mountainside conservations area has more than 170 species of animals. It also boasts the world’s largest herd of giraffes. Not only do visitors get up close to the animals, it is an excellent opportunity to learn about the different species and conservation through the information, the tours, and the interactive activities.

9. Spend Time at the Model Villages

A rather unusual activity that you can enjoy in this area is a visit to a model village and there are two of these in Colorado Springs. The first is the Ghost Town Museum which has fun activities such as gold panning. The second is Magic Town, which is a replica of city life with special effects.

10. Visit the Castle

If you are interested in history and architecture, then a great attraction to visit is Miramont Castle. This impressive chateau was built in 1895 and visitors can take a tour to look at the castle’s artifacts before enjoying afternoon tea in the castle’s tea rooms.
