20 Things You Didn’t Know about Scott Disick
Whether you love Scott Disick or you hate him, you can’t deny that he is one of the best reasons for tuning into an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Thanks to his amazing one-liners, over the top behavior, and tendency to say what everyone else is thinking out loud, he is entertaining, if not a bit overwhelming at times. While you may know a lot about him simply by watching the show or by keeping up with the countless stories written about him on entertainment and gossip websites, you may be surprised to learn that there are quite a few things you don’t know about him.
From several secrets from his high school days that he would probably rather keep quiet to his daily beauty routine and what is the biggest decision he makes day after day, here are 20 things you didn’t know about Scott Disick.
1. While Scott was born into a pretty wealthy family, his parents lost their fortune.
First, it is important to understand that most of Scott’s parent’s (Jeffrey and Bonnie) wealth was not earned, but inherited from Jeffrey’s dad, Scott’s grandfather, who was an attorney, businessman, and real-estate developer. Here’s the thing, there really is no documented reason as to how they lost their money. What is known is that by 2012, the family was having money trouble as evidenced by Jeffrey stealing $3,000 from the bank he worked in. He was charged with petty larceny, ordered to pay restitution, and was made to perform 140 hours of community service.
2. Speaking of Scott’s grandfather, he made a fortune in real estate.
David Disick was an attorney on Wall Street until he got involved in fractional real estate and luxury resort development. In fact, he developed the Frank Klammer Lodge, which is located in Telluride, Colorado and was the property to be referred to as a “private club residence.” By the way, David is still alive and working in fractional real estate in Orlando, FL.
3. While growing up, Scott was a huge fan of playing hockey and going snowboarding.
Although Scott has said that sports aren’t really his thing, that didn’t stop him from enjoying them as a teen. In a 2014 interview, he said, “I loved playing hockey and watching hockey when I was growing up. From age 12 to age 16 I was really into snowboarding.” While Scott is occasionally seen skiing on Kardashian family vacations, it appears that his love of hockey and snowboarding has been replaced by a love for expensive cars and watches.
4. While we’re on the subject of watches, Scott said his hardest decision of the day is deciding which watch to wear.
Apparently, Scott has quite the watch collection. In fact, it is so extensive that he usually spends about ½ an hour choosing the right one to wear. In a 2013 interview with Haute Living magazine, he said,
“My biggest choice of the day is the wristwatch. If the day is professional and I know I have important meetings or am closing a business deal, I will wear what I feel to be the most successful of my watches: a Patek Phillipe. If my day seems more relaxed I will just wear a Rolex. If I know I have an event to go to and I want to be a little flashy I will wear one of my completely flawless diamond Jacob and Co watches.”
5. Before he can address his watch collection, he spends 30 minutes applying lotion.
Also in the interview with Haute Living, Scott admitted to spending 30 minutes every morning taking a leisurely shower before spending another 30 minutes moisturizing with Crème de la Mer. (By the way, Crème de la Mer costs $310 for a 2 oz. jar and a 5 oz. jar.) Now, before he moves on to selecting just the right watch, he spends around an hour deciding what to wear. Essentially, it takes Scott 2.5 hours just to get ready in the morning.
6. You won’t catch him hosting any TV shows anytime soon.
In 2014, Scott decided to audition to be the host of the new Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Unfortunately, his audition was ridiculously awful and almost painful to watch. You can catch a glimpse of his audition here.
7. Scott didn’t graduate from high school.
While Kourtney Kardashian is a college graduate (Arizona State University), the same can’t be said for Scott. Actually, it is believed that he never managed to finish high school. While Scott attended an affluent private school in East Hampton, The Ross School, classmates have said he did not finish and there is no evidence that he did. Scott hasn’t ever addressed the issue.
8. Scott’s high school nicknames would be embarrassing to most people, but Scott was proud of them.
Several years ago, one of Scott’s old classmates, Jason Green, did an interview with In Touch that was quite revealing. He mentioned that Scott had a reputation for being a serial cheater and a hard partier in high school. He also said, “Scott had a couple of nicknames in high school. One was Number One Scum, and the other was STD.” While most people would be a bit embarrassed, Scott embraced his nicknames, especially STD. He actually had STD printed on a set of dog tags that he constantly wore.
9. Scott has been arrested a couple of times.
At 17-years-old, Scott was pulled over in East Hampton, NY for exceeding the speed limit by 47 mph. While examining his license, the officer determined that the ID he was carrying had been tampered with and arrested him. The following year he was involved in an accident and subsequently failed a field sobriety test. He was arrested again and spent the night in jail. Later, he opted to plead guilty to a non-criminal charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol, though there isn’t any information available regarding his punishment.
10. He worked as a model in the past
Okay, it was just one modeling job, but he was a model. He actually posed for the covers of Heartland, a book series for young adults written by Lauren Brooke. You can check out a couple of his covers here.
11. Scott’s favorite vacation spot is Punta Mita, Mexico for a sentimental reason.
In 2006, Scott was introduced to Kourtney Kardashian while partying at the home of Joe Francis in Punta Mita, Mexico. Although Kourtney has said she didn’t develop any romantic feelings for Scott until a year later, he said he liked her from the first minute he saw her. Today, he considers Punta Mita to be his favorite vacation spot because that is where he met Kourtney.
12. Scott once owned a restaurant in NYC, but it closed within a year of its opening.
On April 23, 2012, Scott, along with business partner Jesse Camac, opened Ryu, a Japanese restaurant in NYC’s Meatpacking District. Not too long after it opened, the restaurant closed down the inside and started selling diner-style food from a to-go window. When Hurricane Sandy hit, the restaurant closed down entirely just 191 days after it first opened. It hasn’t reopened since then.
13. He was the spokesman for Amidren, which was essentially a drug for male menopause.
In 2010, Scot hosted a release party for Amidren High-T: Maximum Male Performance at The Chelsea Room in NYC. Amidren is designed to treat andropause, which is the term used to describe hormonal changes in men related to aging, such as a testosterone deficiency and hot flashes. Andropause is also referred to as male menopause, meaning a 20-something Scott was hawking a drug he (hopefully) didn’t need at the time.
14. He had a cameo role in a Chris Brown video.
In 2015, Chris Brown released the video for his latest song “Picture Me Rollin.” The video shows Chris fighting with a woman in a car that is surrounded by other expensive cars. Suddenly, Scott appears and starts yelling at a bunch of half-dressed woman to get off the other sports car. When the girls won’t leave, he calls Chris and tells him to get over there and help him, although in not so nice terms. The video just gets worse from there. You can check out the NSFW video here.
15. He is lactose intolerant.
In 2011, Scott revealed 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me to Us Magazine. One of the things he happened to mention was that he suffered from lactose intolerance. As a result, he has to avoid to most dairy products including milk, cheese, butter, ice cream, soups made with a cream base, and yogurt.
16. He does not adhere to the healthiest diet.
Although his ex-girlfriend, Kourtney, follows a strict diet that allows only for organic foods and bans gluten, Scott’s diet allows for high fat, processed foods. He has said that his favorite type of food is Chinese and that he has to eat it at least once a week. At night, he likes to snack on Goldfish crackers and pretzels while lying in bed and watching Seinfield before going to sleep.
17. Scott prefers to drive in silence.
Scott also mentioned in Us Magazine’s 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me that he turns the music off when he is in the car by himself. Of course, this is not for the sake of safety or anything like that. Instead, he does it because he likes to use the time alone to think and he finds this harder to do when the music is on.
18. He was once a Punk’d victim.
Back in 2012, Scott had an epic meltdown when he left a friend’s house only to find that his Rolls Royce Phantom convertible was nowhere to be found. When he finally calmed down, he realized that the car had been towed, which wouldn’t be too big of a problem except that he didn’t have his passport or driver’s license to prove who he was or that he owned the car. After arriving at the tow yard, he tried to bribe the worker into giving him his car back. Not only was he unsuccessful, but the worker made fun of him for having a hairbrush and Blink-182 CD in the car. After some more haggling, they agreed on a price and Scott was handed his hood ornament and told there were a couple of bumps in the wing, which triggered another meltdown. It’s actually entertaining to watch, which you can do here.
19. He really is a Lord.
You may have caught the episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in which Scott went through an actual knighting ceremony. After pledging allegiance to English laws, he officially became a Lord or a member of British royalty. He soon declared, “I don’t have to be walking around like some peasant. I’m royalty.” Here’s the thing. He actually purchased his title online before heading overseas with Kim, Kanye, Rob, and Jonathan Cheban back in 2012.
20. After his last split with Kourtney, he purchased a $5.96 million home.
Purchased in January 2016, the 8,000 sq. ft. home includes 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms and just happens to be on a private cul-de-sac in the same Hidden Hills neighborhood as Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Kim Kardashian. The gorgeous home also includes an amazing pool, billiards room, wine cellar, and gourmet kitchen. However, a mere six months later, he put the stunning home back on the market for $8.8 million. By the way, if you are interested, the home is still on the market. You can find all the details here .
