Why The AMEX Plum Card is Great for Small Business Owners

When you own a business, you need to know that you have the flexibility to get things done without having someone or something holding you back at every turn. One of the most important things that most business owners need is a way to spend money that works for them. When you have the American Express Plum card, that is exactly what you get, along with so much more.

This is a charge card that is designed exclusively for businesses. If flexibility is the thing you're looking for, that is exactly what you will get here. One of the things that makes this card truly unique is that the people at American Express understand what it's like to own and operate a business. As such, they know how difficult it can be when you're just getting started. After all, starting a business requires a lot of time, patience and money. More often than not, small businesses are already starting to feel the financial pressure by the time they open their doors, simply because it costs so much to get started. Because of that knowledge, American Express issues this card to businesses and then waves the annual fee for the first year. After that, business owners pay an affordable $250 annual fee for each 12-month billing cycle. The truth is, that costs far less than a lot of individual charge cards.

Another thing that makes this card such a good option is that business owners have different ways to pay off their bill. For instance, you can choose to pay for purchases in the same billing cycle and get a 1.5 percent discount on your bill or you can allow that balance to carry over for a full 60 days without accruing any interest whatsoever. You can even combine the two, paying a portion of the balance up front and then carrying the rest for the next 60 days. Whatever you choose to pay during the same billing cycle that you make the purchase, you will receive the discount of 1.5 percent, even if you don't pay your bill in full for another two months.

You also have the option of giving additional cards to trusted employees, thereby providing you with more flexibility when it comes to operating your business. As opposed to forcing you to be there for every major purchase, you can leave that in the hands of the people you trust the most. You even have the ability to choose your billing date so that you don't get hit with an expensive charge card bill at the same time that you're paying rent or insurance, all so you can continue to operate your business.

If you're worried about spending limits, there's no need to be. With this card, there is no such thing as a preset spending limit. This is because American Express understands that small businesses need to be able to make large purchases. By removing the spending limit, it allows business owners to purchase what they need when they need it as opposed to having their hands tied when it matters most.

As you can see, the American Express Plum card offers a lot of options for small business owners. If you happen to be one of those people, you can do so much more with your business when you have options like these. The truth is, it's hard to operate a small business and be successful in today's economy. Therefore, you need all the help you can get. Thanks to the American Express Plum card, you have the chance to level the playing field, so to speak.

If it weren't for this card, a lot of business owners might not be able to make the purchases that they need to make in order to keep the doors open. Imagine not being able to buy the materials that you have to purchase in order to fill goods or services that people are depending on you for. Imagine not being able to repair something that's critical at a moment's notice. It's this type of flexibility that is provided by the Plum card. That's why so many business owners choose to utilize it more frequently than virtually any other option when it comes to paying for large purchases.
