The thing is, most of the people that don't particularly enjoy it feel that way because they've never had truly great sushi. The overwhelming majority of the time, they change their opinion completely after they eat at a sushi restaurant that's actually worth visiting. If you just so happen to be in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and you're looking for sushi restaurants that will keep you coming back again and again, here are 20 of them. Of course, you'll end up having your favorites but the truth is, you can't really go wrong with any restaurant on this list.

20. Fuji Japanese Restaurant (10752 Kings Rd)

This is an unassuming looking restaurant that definitely has a great deal going for it. The overwhelming majority of dishes served there are traditional Japanese cuisine, including sushi. Of course, they also serve a wide variety of other options in case you're just not in the mood for sushi on some given day. The atmosphere is relaxed and their prices are more than affordable. They have a wide range of selections and even have a dinner menu and then a lunch menu that contains lighter portions, often at a lower price. It's a great place to dine in or enjoy takeout.

19. Soho Steak & Seafood Sushi Bar (407 21st Ave N)

There are many things about this restaurant that make it unique. Perhaps the most amazing thing is that it has so many different menu options available. It's a great place to go if you love sushi, there's no doubt about that. However, they also serve loads of other seafood dishes and have various steak dishes available as well. If you're in the mood for Mediterranean food, they've got you covered. This makes it a great family restaurant because there is always something there that everyone in the whole family will love.

They're located in Broadway on the Beach and they love creating their own unique sushi dishes that you can't find anywhere else. That's one of the many things that makes them special. They also have some of the best sushi rolls and rice bowls that you'll ever taste in your entire life. It's a relaxed environment, but it's also a very busy one because the restaurant is extremely popular. If you want a table, it's best to get there early. It might also be a good idea to avoid visiting at peak times so you won't have to stand in line for so long. They also do takeout so you can get your food and enjoy it at home if you wish.

This restaurant is almost as well known for its bar as it is for the food it serves. That's good to know if you're in the mood for a place that serves excellent food along with drinks to match. As far as the food itself is concerned, they have a full array of traditional Japanese dishes as well as practically every type of sushi roll you could ever think of. They do dine-in, takeout and delivery. They're also quite busy, so it's best if you make a reservation. What's the dress code if you decide to dine in? Business casual will work just fine.

16. Co Sushi (3098 Deville St)

This Eatery is located inside The Market Common in Myrtle Beach. People absolutely flock to the location to eat each and every time that it's open. As a matter of fact, most people that have eaten there absolutely rave about the food served there. It's definitely a more modern take on traditional dishes. You can get bahn mi, pho and dumplings there as well as sushi rolls. It is just a bit more upscale than some other restaurants, so it's best to dress well for the occasion.

This is easily one of the biggest restaurants in the entirety of Myrtle Beach. When you walk in, the place almost feels like it's so vast that you could get lost in there. It's also extremely busy and it's easy to understand why. They serve a wide array of sushi rolls as well as Teppanyaki dishes that they grill right there in front of you while you watch from start to finish. The food is more than reasonably priced and it's absolutely delicious. There's also something special about the atmosphere in this particular location. It's laid back, people seem to feel free to be themselves and everyone always seems to be having a good time.

14. Fortune Asian Bistro: Sushi & Bar (7937 N Kings Hwy)

If you're looking for a casual place to go that doesn't force you to dress up and allows you to simply relax and let your hair down, this is the one. They serve some truly delicious sushi, but they don't stop there. They also serve all kinds of traditional Japanese cuisine. In fact, that's one of the great things about this restaurant. They have so many different things on the menu that there is always something you can find, no matter what you're in the mood for.

13. Mulan Japanese (762 Oak Forest Ln, #9)

This is actually a chain restaurant, but don't let that fool you into thinking that it's not as good. As a matter of fact, it's absolutely outstanding. They serve Japanese and Vietnamese food including pho and sushi rolls. There is absolutely nothing about the way the food tastes or the way it looks that would ever lead you to believe this is some chain restaurant. Everything is handled with extreme care. It's also arguably some of the freshest seafood that you will ever eat.

If you've ever thought about a sushi buffet and been turned off by the idea, you've obviously never eaten here. It's true, they do indeed offer a buffet full of sushi rolls and other traditional Japanese dishes. It is absolutely delicious and they make sure that everything out there is fresh. The place is always busy so you don't have to worry about the possibility of anything sitting there for too long.

11. Lil Tokyo (780 Coastal Grand Cir, #V-02)

Anyone who likes the idea of watching a chef prepare their food right there at the table is going to absolutely love this place. They serve a whole list of Hibachi items as well as sushi and the food is absolutely outstanding. Just as important, there's something that you can't quite put your finger on about the energy in this place. Most people have a tendency to claim they just feel better while they're here. That fact, coupled with delicious food, makes it one of the most popular locations in the entire area.

10. Manta Steak & Seafood Sushi Bar (1206 S Kings Hwy)

They have all kinds of food here that will make your mouth water. They offer sushi rolls and other types of appetizers as well as soup and salad. They also have a wide variety of different traditional Japanese entrees, both for lunch and dinner. If you're looking for a restaurant that's casual and relaxed with a menu that allows you to try a number of different things in one sitting, this is a great place to start. Of course, the food is delicious. It's also worth noting that the prices are more than reasonable so you won't break the bank in the process.

9. Mitsuwa Japanese Hibachi (409 S Kings Hwy)

As you can undoubtedly tell by the name, they specialize in Hibachi menu items as well as sushi. The food is delicious, there's no question about that. It's also a more upscale restaurant so if you plan on going, it's best that you dress up a bit. You also have to make reservations. What if that's not your style? They do offer carryout and curbside delivery, so you can still enjoy the delicious food without having to get out of your jeans and t-shirt if that's what you prefer.

8. Sushi King Steak & Seafood (4036 River Oaks Dr, #9)

They do steak, sushi and other Hibachi-style seafood. It's one of the most casual locations in the entirety of Myrtle Beach. They also have some truly reasonable prices, made better by their happy hour specials. If you are one of those individuals that has a tendency to wake up at the crack of dawn, they also have early bird specials that you can take advantage of.

7. Tokyo Japan (2000 Coastal Grand Cir)

This is a no-frills eatery located inside Coastal Grand Mall. The sushi there is absolutely fantastic and the prices are more than reasonable. As far as the atmosphere is concerned, it's relaxing, even cozy. The food is relatively reasonably priced, especially considering the fact that it's located inside a mall, something that typically makes it more expensive. Overall, this is a great place to stop if you're already inside the mall doing some shopping. The truth is, after you eat there you'll probably end up coming to the mall just to eat, even if you don't do anything else while you're there.

6. Miyabi Japanese Restaurant (9732 N Kings Hwy)

Of course, the food is great here but the thing that most people come for is the atmosphere. Chefs prepare all of your dishes right there at your table and it's definitely like attending a show in and of itself. The great part is that after you enjoy the show, you get to eat some wonderful food, so relax and enjoy yourself.

5. Jimmyz Original Hibachi House (1780 Pine Island Rd)

If you're in the mood for excellent food, a menu with a wide selection and a casual environment that doesn't have any pretense whatsoever, then this is your place. As a matter of fact, they have some of the most delicious Hibachi food and sushi that you'll ever find, whether you're in Myrtle Beach or anywhere else. Just looking at the menu is likely to make your mouth water. It's also one of the most affordable places in town, so load up and enjoy.

4. Capital Japan (4420 Oleander Dr)

This is one of the more upscale locations in Myrtle ,so if you plan on having a meal there, it's best to dress the part and of course, make reservations. They serve largely traditional Japanese dishes, including sushi rolls and sashimi. They also offer both dining and carry out, but they don't deliver. Don't worry, it's definitely worth the trip to enjoy it for yourself.

3. SOHO Steak & Seafood Sushi Bar North (9715 N Kings Hwy)

They specialize in sushi rolls and steak here. They also have other traditional Japanese dishes, especially those with fresh seafood. It's a popular location that is fairly priced and has an atmosphere that's enjoyable, even during the busiest times of the day.

2. Mr. Fish Seafood Restaurant (6401 N Kings Hwy)

Before you get terribly put off by the name, you should give this place a try. It's a restaurant that offers traditional sushi rolls and soft-shell crab, but they also have a market in-house. You can dine in or you can purchase your items from the market and take it home with you. Of course, nothing says that you can't do both.

1. Bamboo Hibachi & Wings (1013 Hwy 501 S)

This is a very unassuming location that doesn't offer a lot of frills, but the food is absolutely outstanding. They have sushi rolls, Hibachi items and wings that will absolutely blow you away. It's a relatively small location, so it's best that you get there early because everyone in the area knows how good this food is. As a result, the line is always quite long.
