Why Ben & Jack’s is One of NYC’s Finest Steakhouses

Ben and Jacks

Although there are multiple options when dining out in New York City that offers various styles of cuisine, one of the most popular choices is a steakhouse. This type of restaurant usually suits most tastes and are suitable for both large groups and intimate occasions. You will find many outstanding steakhouses in NYC from which you can choose, and each person will have their personal favorite. Many diners consider Ben & Jack’s Steakhouse one of the best steakhouses in New York City, and here is why. The main element to consider regarding the quality of a restaurant is the food. Overall, the reviews from diners suggest that the food served is of excellent quality and that the dishes are prepared to order using fresh ingredients. The main standout point about this restaurant is the extensive options available, as they have several different menus from which you can choose.

Starting with the main menu, diners can choose from a selection of appetizers before deciding whether to opt for a meat or seafood main. The meat selection includes various cuts of steak cooked on the grill, with alternative options of veal or lamb. According to diners, the steaks are cooked perfectly to your liking and are so tender they cut like butter. The seafood selection includes dishes such as salmon, sea bass, or lobster, with the option of being steamed, grilled, or boiled. There are optional sides to accompany your entrée. The main menu also includes some lighter options, such as soups or salads. A slightly more unusual element of the menu is the offerings from the raw bar. This predominantly consists of raw fish and seafood served in a variety of ways.

The prix-fixe lunch menu is a set price and there are ten entrée options. The entrees are served with potatoes of your choice and vegetables. The set price also includes either a mixed green salad or a French onion soup, a dessert, and either a coffee or a tea. This menu is only served between 11.30 am and 3.45 pm. For lighter bites, diners can choose something from the bar menu. This is great for those who are just popping in during their lunch hour or for those who are out enjoying a drink and only want a light snack. Just some of the options on this menu include clams, smaller cuts of steak, burgers, and sliders.

Regardless of the menu from which you choose to eat, you should definitely save room for one of the tantalizing desserts. In addition to a selection of ice creams and sorbet, there are also more filling desserts to sample. These include chocolate mousse cake, key lime pie, apple strudel, and crème brulee. All the desserts are available with the steakhouse’s homemade ‘Schlag’, which is a type of German whipped cream.

The exhaustive drinks menu at Ben & Jacks Steakhouse is also worthy of note. In addition to an extensive wine list, there are also options for half bottles, large format bottles, ports, and dessert wines. There is also a fun list of classic cocktails for you to try. Private dining is also an option at Ben & Jacks Steakhouse as it boasts a modern and elegant private dining room with impressive chandeliers and high ceilings. It is the ideal size to accommodate up to 30 seated guests or for a party of 50 guests reception style. You can also hire the entire restaurant for an event. If you opt to do this, you can host an event for up to 125 seated guests of up to 200 guests reception style.

The vibe of a restaurant can make a big difference in your overall enjoyment of a meal. HuffPost describes the restaurant as having a classic steakhouse look, with dark woods, light walls, two bars, a wine wall, and white tablecloths. There is also a personal touch that is not evident in many steakhouses these days. This is thanks to the owners, cousins Ben and Jack Sinana, being present in the restaurant to welcome guests and make sure all the diners are happy. It is such personal touches that make this restaurant stand apart from the rather impersonal chain steakhouses that are popping up all over New York City. Furthermore, there is a convivial vibe at Ben & Jack’s Steakhouse that makes it almost impossible for you not to have a good time during your visit.

Zagat notes that good customer service is another advantage of dining in this restaurant. They describe it as being run like a well-oiled machine with attentive waiting staff and quick service. The staff is happy to offer guidance regarding the menus and wine list, while the food is served promptly and cooked to perfection. In terms of pricing, it is a little pricier than some other steakhouses in New York City. However, the price reflects the quality of the ingredients, the high standard of the dishes, the enjoyable vibe, and the excellent customer service. Therefore, most diners would agree that it is worth paying a little more and treating yourself to a meal at this outstanding establishment.
