You may not have heard much about her up until now, but Chase Sui Wonders has been in the news lately as the latest companion of actor and comedian Pete Davidson.
Pete, who is known for his many high-profile relationships, met Chase a while back while filming a movie together. The two have been spotted out together frequently as of late and people have a lot of questions about Pete's new beautiful new companion.
Chase is pretty amazing in her own right. At only 26, her net worth is rumored to be $2 million. But how did she earn it? Where did she come from? How did she come to date Davidson? We've got the net worth scoop and more.
Chase Sui Wonders: Child Prodigy
Though Wonders does not call herself a child prodigy, anyone who writes, directs and stars in their first film at age 13 probably deserves that title. Yes, Wonders created the film, A Trivial Exclusion while barely a teen.
While this might seem beyond the capabilities of your average teen, Chase was not average. Born on May 21, 1996, in Detroit, Michigan, Wonders grew up just outside the city with her parents, Robert and Jeannie, and her siblings Grant and Jeannie.
Her aunt is the acclaimed fashion designer Anna Sui, with whom she has worked over the years. As a child, she says she would play on the floor beside the runway at New York's Fashion Week.
While in school, Chase was a member of (as she puts it) "weird" activities like the Rubrik's Cube Club. But it seems these activities challenged Chase and kept her on her toes. She ended up going to Harvard University, where she wrote for the prestigious and iconic Harvard Lampoon.
Upon graduating with the highest honor of Magna Cum Laude, Chase continued to write and model as she did while at Harvard. But she also decided to try her hand at acting.
Though she's still fairly new to the gig, her presence is certainly known and it's paid off when you look at her net worth.
Chase Sui Wonders Net Worth
In a relatively short time, Chase Sui Wonders managed to accumulate a net worth of $2 million. She's done this through acting, writing, directing, and modeling. Let's take a look at exactly how she's done it.
Playing on the floor at her aunt's fashion shows seemed to have paid off for Chase. It got her noticed by some pretty famous people.
In 2017, while still in college, Calvin Klein hired her to model for their underwear campaign. Tastefully done, much of the shoot was directed by one of Chase's heroines, director Sofia Coppola.
She has also been the face for Madewell denim company (maker of vintage-looking jeans), and Coach handbags.
In 2020, Chase decided to try her hand in the world of television. She appeared as Nikki in the HBO comedy series, Betty. The show chronicled female skateboarders in NYC and their experiences trying to make it in the male-dominated sport.
Though the show was short-lived, Wonders caught the attention of the folks at HBO. She was almost immediately offered the role of Riley in the network show, Generation.
The comedy-drama followed a group of high schoolers as they tried to figure out who they were and what they wanted to do in a conservative town. This show, too, only made it one season, but Chase's performance was very well received by both fans and critics.
In 2023, Chase will be appearing in the Apple TV+ series, City On Fire. The show has a murder-mystery plot and takes place in New York City.
Wonders is also rumored to be appearing in the upcoming Peacock show, Bubkus. The show stars none other than Pete Davidson, along with Joe Pesci and Edie Falco. The plot is loosely based on Davidson's life. There's no information yet on exactly what role Chase will be playing in the series.
Though she's best known for her television work, Chase has been in a few interesting films and has even more in development. There's no doubt that if she keeps this energy going, Chase will be one of the top billed and top paid actresses in the industry. Her movie work has thus far been well received and includes:
- 2018 - Salami On White (short film)
- 2019 - Warpaint For The Teenage Soul (directed, short film)
- 2019 - Daniel Isn't Real
- 2020 - On The Rocks (directed by Sofia Coppola)
- 2020 - Out Of The Blue
- 2022 - Wake (wrote and directed, short film in collaboration with Chinese Bogue$
- 2022 - Bodies, Bodies, Bodies (a horror-comedy where she met Pete Davidson)
- 2023 - Little Death (coming in 2023)
- 2023 - The Last Migration (directed, coming in 2023)
Chase has been keeping extra busy of late with magazine interviews, various photo shoots, and appearances at charity fundraisers.
She was also a presenter at The MTV Movie Awards.
Chase's Instagram has also been blowing up and she currently has over 114,000 followers.
She's up and coming and in demand. So, no doubt her $2 million net worth will be multiplied soon.
When she's not working on films, television projects, or writing scripts, Chase loves to grab a good book. She's also no slouch when it comes to drawing. Though she says it's purely for enjoyment and to help relieve stress.
Currently renting a Manhattan apartment, Wonders loves trying new restaurants and quick bite places. Much like Baba's Puerogies in Brooklyn, where she was recently spotted with Davidson.
The two have also been seen at a Rangers game in December, a Manhattan Whole Foods, and Universal Studios. Most recently, the two were photographed vacationing together in Hawaii.
Any thoughts that the two were "just good friends", (as Davidson's agent previously stated), flew out the window when the photos showed the couple kissing and cuddling up by the pool.
The couple have known each other since filming the movie Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, in 2021. That was before Pete started his well publicized relationship with Kim Kardashian. It is said the two had "crazy chemistry" while playing girlfriend and boyfriend.
They remained friends after the movie wrapped. It wasn't until after the relationship with Kardashian ended and his brief time with actress Emily Ratajkowski was over, that the two started seeing each other as something more than friends.
Pete is known for his many relationships, as well as for ending them. But he recently sold his Staten Island condo and moved closer to Manhattan. He's just over the bridge in Brooklyn now, so we'll have to wait and see how things pan out for him and Chase.
Whatever the outcome will be for the couple, Chase's star is definitely on the rise. So is her net worth.
