A Closer Look at the Rezvani Beast Alpha X Blackbird
A high-octane, superpowered newcomer to the high-performance street scene, Rezvani Motors has been operating out of Irvine, California since 2014. They started out with the Rezvani Beast, a supercar based on the chassis of the Ariel Atom (a British road-legal racer). This car captured the attention of some big names. In fact, they sold their first car – the Rezvani Beast – to Chris Brown for $200,000 in 2015.
This manufacturer has gone through a few different models, including the Beast X and the Beast Alpha. While the Beast X was based on the Ariel Atom, the Beast Alpha changed it up, using a Lotus Elise chassis instead. The newest offering from the Irvine manufacturer also uses a Lotus chassis. The recently-announced Rezvani Beast Alpha X Blackbird is a sleek looking car, quite in-line with the creative standards of the California company. The lines on the body are a combination of swooping curves and sharp angles, lending themselves well to the aggressive vibe that the car portrays. Keep reading, and we will go into detail about some of the features that this new car will offer.
Motor
The Rezvani Beast Alpha X Blackbird is set to be one of the best street-legal cars on the scene in 2018. It will include a high-powered turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-4 engine. The 700-horsepower motor, developed alongside engine manufacturer Cosworth, is built from the ground-up. With all of the reinforced parts – including the pistons, rods, camshafts, and valves – this engine will be reliable, even when it is making estimated quarter-mile runs of about nine seconds.
Transmission and Drivetrain
The transmission included on this vehicle will be a standard 6-speed manual. It is a rear-mounted transmission – right behind the cabin – and puts power to the rear wheels. However, you may also elect to purchase a sequential transmission if your primary use for the car would be racing. Either way, the car will provide impressive performance and speed.
Body Design
The Lotus Elise chassis holds an all-carbon-fiber body designed by Samir Sadikhov, the designer behind many supercar concepts such as the Ferrari Xezri. It is lightweight, strong, and aerodynamic. This means that the vehicle will move quickly and be easily maneuverable. The Alpha X Blackbird will also bring back the “sidewinder” sliding doors that were included on the first Beast Alpha. These doors offer a pretty nice ‘wow’ factor to the car, as they haven’t been seen on any other vehicles before.
Finally, this car offers a hardtop body. This gives it a ‘plane-like’ look – when you sit in the cockpit of the Alpha X Blackbird, after all, you will fly. The hardtop also keeps the rain, wind, and elements off of the driver, meaning that it is a more comfortable ride. This hardtop is removable, however – so you can go roofless if you want to.
Creature Comforts
This new offering from Rezvani will also include a few features that aren’t just devoted to tearing up the asphalt. It will offer air conditioning and power windows, as well as a state-of-the-art infotainment system. This digital setup will also support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interior will also be furnished with custom embroidered leather over two race-ready bucket seats.
Availability
As with their other designs, the Rezvani Alpha X Blackbird will only be sold to five people, at a starting price of $225,000. There are only four of these cars still available, as Rampage Jackson of MMA has already reserved the first one to be built. You must contact Rezvani to reserve your own.
The Verdict
The new Rezvani supercar is a unique, powerful take on a Lotus Elise base car. The custom design is aggressive, with a sleek, modern vibe. It only comes in black thus far, but the styling of everything from the panels to the logos and interior ties everything together very well. Of course, the main attraction to this car is the motor. It puts out a huge amount of horsepower and should be reliable due to the reinforced parts in this motor build. This car is ready for cruising or racing and should handle well due to the light design.
The Rezvani Alpha X Blackbird will likely prove to be a viable competitor in the supercar world. A car with comparable performance is the Ferrari 458 Twin Turbo – but those still go for a far higher price, even with the same levels of horsepower. If you are looking at purchasing a supercar, it’d be a solid choice at a reasonable price for its performance level.
