How Darci Lynne Farmer Achieved a Net Worth of $8 Million

Darci Lynn Farmer

Darci Lynne Farmer took the world by storm back in 2017 when she became the youngest contestant to win “America's Got Talent.” The ventriloquist and vocalist demonstrated her amazing skills, knocking the socks off the judges and audiences alike. She easily won that year's competition and quickly became the most requested contestant to return to the show for future airings. Now, just four years later, Farmer now has a net worth of $8 million. In addition, she is constantly adding to her net worth due to her busy schedule.

How It All Got Started

As previously mentioned, Farmer won “America's Got Talent” in 2017. It wasn't the first time that she had participated in such a contest. The previous year, she competed in and won another televised competition show called “Little Big Shots.” Only 11 years old at the time, she beat out a lot of people who were both older and more experienced. That was certainly true when she competed on “America's Got Talent,” where she went up against adults who had been performing for years. Nevertheless, she acted like an old pro when she got on stage, appearing to be completely comfortable with her performance. She was also convincing, gaining popularity with even the most difficult judges on the panel. Her efforts did not go unnoticed. When she won the competition, she received a check for $1 million, along with a residency in Las Vegas where she could perform her show. That's not bad for somebody who had barely turned 12 years old at the time.

A Life-Changing Event

There is no doubt that her decision to compete on “America's Got Talent” changed her life completely. She had only received her first puppet two years earlier, for her 10th birthday. She ended up competing in a local talent show and impressed everyone there so much that her parents decided to start having her work with a coach that could help her develop her talent as a ventriloquist. She also worked with a vocal coach. In less than two years time, she was ready to compete in her first televised competition and then went on to compete in the big leagues, so to speak. When she won “America's Got Talent,” she got a big paycheck and the aforementioned residency in Las Vegas, but she also started touring the country in addition to the dates that she had booked in Vegas. She's been touring the country ever since. Originally, that tour was supposed to run from 2017 through 2019, but she continues to sell out shows in near record time. As a result, she keeps adding dates in order to meet public demand. This has gone a long way toward helping her reach her net worth of $8 million, as almost every one of the shows that she has scheduled thus far has been sold out by the time the show date came to pass.

Additional Activities

Somehow, she has also found time to be involved in additional activities as well. In fact, she has made special appearances on a number of other television shows and even had her own Christmas special on NBC. Obviously, each one of these activities has also contributed to her overall net worth. While the exact amount of money she was paid for each activity has not yet been disclosed, she is paid for each appearance that she makes. When you consider how much she has been working since 2017, it really shouldn't be that much of a surprise that she has ended up with a net worth of approximately $8 million dollars. After all, she has been working consistently throughout that time, taking very little time off, if any. In a typical week, she is responsible for doing anywhere from four to eight shows, sometimes doing more than one show per day. When you consider the fact that these shows are almost always sold out, it's relatively easy to see how she has gained this net worth so quickly. That is especially true with the larger venues where the seating capacity can easily exceed 300 people. In some places, she is selling out shows that seat well over seven hundred individuals.

The Future Looks Bright

Of course, she is still staying just as busy as ever. More importantly, her future is looking very bright, indeed. She is continuing to tour the country, selling out shows virtually everywhere she goes. She still has a considerable amount of time left at what she now calls her home away from home, Las Vegas. There is no doubt that this Oklahoma City native has come a long way since winning a local talent contest. It's almost hard to believe that she accomplished that goal only a few short years ago. She has found fame and fortune at such a fast pace that it is sometimes frightening, but she seems to be handling it all in stride. As such, there is no reason to believe that she won't continue to add to her net worth in the future as she books more dates and adds additional shows to her already busy schedule. A lot of people tend to be rather surprised when they learn that a ventriloquist has a net worth of approximately $8 million, more than some Hollywood A-listers. It just goes to prove that it isn't always about a particular talent that you possess or even how many people know your name. In reality, it all comes down to how hard you are willing to work and the amount of time that you are willing to put in on the thing that matters most to you. Darci Lynne Farmer has put in that work and now, she is reaping the rewards of her efforts. It will be genuinely exciting to see what she decides to do next. There is little doubt that whatever it is, it will be extremely entertaining.
