When it comes to acceleration, the current rating of the vehicle is clocked at a decent record of hitting 60 mph from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds.

Although this is impressive and requires no apologies, it's not the fastest accelerating McLaren ever made, it's just close. There are four other models, that incredibly, can best this acceleration speed, but be prepared for some serious Gs that will lay you back in the seat. Also, the 720S performed well in quarter-mile trials with 710 bhp under the hood it reached a quarter-mile in just 10.1 seconds on the track.

What this shows us is that there are tradeoffs between the models and while one of them is zippier out of the gate, the other one doesn't take long to catch up the time and overtake the other. It's rather interesting to compare the zero to sixty times with the quarter-mile ratings because there is usually this type of differentiation from one model to another.
