It was during the 1980s that his career really took off, especially when he landed the leading role in the 1986 movie ‘The Fly’. He also had roles in films including ‘Earth Girls Are Easy’, ‘Vibes’, ‘The Tall Guy’, ‘The Big Chill’, and ‘Into the Night’. During the 1980s, he also worked in television, and his biggest job was appearing in 14 episodes of ‘Tenspeed and Brown Shoe’. However, he was at the height of his career throughout the 1990s, and it is for the films in which he appeared during this decade for which he is best known. Some of these included ‘Jurassic Park’, ‘Mr. Frost’, ‘Deep Cover’, ‘Nine Months’, ‘Hide Away’, ‘Independence Day’, and ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’.

His success continued through to the 2000s, and he had multiple acting and voice roles during this decade. One of his most memorable films from this decade was the 2004 movie ‘The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou’. In this film, he played the role of Allistair Hennessey, and he was nominated for several awards for his performance. Goldblum’s television career also continued throughout the 2000s. Some of the series in which he appeared between 2000 and 2010 included ‘Raines’, ‘Will & Grace’, and ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’.

Since 2010, Jeff Goldblum has continued to enjoy success in both his film and television careers. He reprised his role as David Levenson for ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’, and also reprised the role of Dr. Ian Malcolm for ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ and again in ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’. The latter is set for release in 2021. In terms of his television career since 2010, Goldblum’s main job has been presenting 12 episodes of ‘The World According to Jeff Goldblum’. However, he has also made multiple appearances in other television series. He is currently in the voice recording process to provide the voice of Grandmaster for an upcoming animated television series called ‘What If…?’

Goldblum’s Career in Music

Although he is best known as an actor, Jeff Goldblum is also a talented musician. He is in a jazz band called The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. With this band, Goldblum delivered weekly performances at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City. He signed a record deal with Decca Records in 2018. This led to the release of two studio albums. The first, ‘The Capitol Studios Sessions’, was released in November 2018. This was followed by ‘I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This’ in November 2019.

In addition to his career in film and television, Jeff Goldblum has also provided voices for various video games. His first voice role for a video game was the 1996 video game ‘Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland’, for which he provided the voice of Count Dracula. He provided the voice for Dr. Ian Malcolm for the 1997 game ‘Chaos Island: The Lost World’ and then again for the 2018 game ‘Jurassic World Evolution’. Goldblum has also provided the voice of David Levinson for the 1997 video game ‘Independence Day’ and for Nero in the 2015 game ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’. Goldblum is now married to Emilie Livingston, who is a Canadian Olympic gymnast and 30 years younger than her husband. They met in 2014, were engaged by the middle of the year, and married in November of the same year. Their first child was born in July 2015, followed by a second child in April 2017.
