1. He is the co-founder and owner of MOLOCO

According to Crunchbase, in addition to being the CEO of MOLOCO, Mr. Ahn is also a co-founder of the company. MOLOCO is a startup that was launched in 2013. It specializes in programmatic advertising solutions for companies that are entering acquisition, retention, or monetization campaigns. The business is located in Redwood City, California.

2. He's good at throwing a pitch

Ahn's business has been in operation for seven years. While this is often a make or break period for most new startups, his company is thriving under his leadership. MOLOCO has gained the interest and support of several venture capital investors. This tells us that Ikkjin Ahn is good at throwing a pitch at investors and securing their support in fundraising rounds. So far, MOLOCO has raised $185 million in venture capital funding. Ahn joined the Android company in 2010, after leaving YouTube. His position with the mobile software platform was with the TLM Big Data Team. He has had experience throughout a variety of different industries. When Mr. Ahn left a position he seemed to always have another new adventure waiting for him to pursue.

5. Ikkjin Ahn has an impressive education

According to his LinkedIn profile, Ikkjin attended the Seoul National University n his home country of South Korea. He began classes, studying computer science and economics in 1997. He graduated from the university with his bachelor of science degree in 2004.

6. Ahn earned his master's in the United States

After receiving his bachelor's degree from a South Korean university, he traveled to the United States where he immediately enrolled in an advanced degree program at the University of Pennsylvania. He entered the engineering program at the institution in 2004. He earned his master of science in engineering degree in 2006. The addition of credentialing allowed him to officially become an engineer in the computer science arena. With his studies in economics, he became more portable and was qualified for better job opportunities at higher levels in his chosen field.

7. He earned his doctorate

Ikkjin Ahn completed his master's degree in 2006. Without taking a break from his studies, he immediately entered the Ph.D. program at the University of California, San Diego. He studied in the field of computer science. With two degrees already under his belt, he set out to achieve one more academic milestone. He earned his ABD in the Ph.D. program in computer science in 2008. With three degrees in hand, he was ready to go out into the business world and start his professional career.

8. He started as an engineer

Ikkjin Ahn began his professional career as a software engineer. He was hired in this position with a company called 01 Inc. He was hired in January of 2001 and worked in the job for one year and seven months. He left his job t 01 Inc. to pursue an opportunity with a company called Humanex. He was also a software engineer for this company. He worked there from August of 2002 through May of 2004, leaving after one year and ten months to accept a position with YouTube. Ahn established consistent work history. He worked steadily and was never in between jobs. This steadfastness tells us that he has a strong work ethic and drive to maintain professionalism.

9. Ahn was a staff engineer for Google

After leaving YouTube, Ahn got hired to work for Google as a staff software engineer/TLM. The latter was also the job discussed previously, working for Android. He remained at the Mountain View, California locale for three years and four months. He decided that it was time for him to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams. When the opportunity to launch his own business presented itself, he took it and has not looked back. He's been serving as the CEO of his company for the past seven years and ten months. This role was his first entrepreneurial endeavor but, it has been a successful one. He entered the executive leadership side of business fully prepared from his previous education and work experience.

10. He's skilled in helping others make money

Mr. Ahn's startup MOLOCO is all about providing companies with the tools and knowledge to monetize their sites. He knows a lot about optimizing advertisements in an online environment. He did that for YouTube and other companies he worked for. After learning the ins and outs of ad optimization, he knew that this was something he could do well. He took his skill set and his passion and turned it into a successful and thriving company that has made him and his partner very wealthy.
