How Much Does a Louis Vuitton Phone Case Cost?

Louis Vuitton

If you want everyone to think you're rich, get a Louis Vuitton bag. It doesn't have to have anything in it, but providing it's got the LV monogram stamped on the front, no one will be any the wiser. Louis Vuitton is a brand for the wealthy (or at least, those with big credit card limits). It's expensive. Super, duper expensive. Louis Vuitton is a top fashion house and it's got no hesitation at charging top dollar to shop there. If you're frugal, this isn't the brand for you. The proof? The cost of its phone cases. If you thought iPhones were expensive enough, just wait till you see how much a Louis Vuitton phone case will set you back.

How Much Does a Louis Vuitton Phone Case Cost?

When you think of luxury leather goods, your mind jumps straight to Louis Vuitton. Sure, there's plenty of equally respectable brands out there, but there's something about Louis Vuitton that's elevated it to the next level. But whereas you're probably already well aware of its bags, wallets, and trunks, you might not be aware that it also make phone cases. Or maybe you are aware but have been left so astounded by the cost of the things, you'd rather pretend you didn't. In fairness, not all of Louis Vuitton's phone cases cost an arm and a leg. But when even the 'cheapest' LV phone case comes in at $450, you know your wallet is about to get a kicking. As ubergizmo.com writes, Louis Vuitton unveiled its most expensive phone case to date back in 2017. Designed for the Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the 'Eye Trunk' cases were as luxurious as you'd expect from Louis Vuitton... and as pricey. The most expensive option in the Eye Trunk range came in at a whopping $5,500, significantly more than the cost of the phone itself. Since then, the brand has calmed its prices down a little. But only a little. Although it now carries a good range of cases in the sub $500 category, it's still got plenty in the plus $1000 category. It's even got one that breaks the $2000 barrier.

Louis Vuitton Phone Cases Below $500

Although the most expensive phone cases are the ones that attract the most attention, the majority of Louis Vuitton phone cases come in at less than $500. It's expensive, for sure, but not quite so eye-watering as some of the prices we'll come across shortly. So, what exactly can you expect from the cheapest of Louis Vuitton's range? Quite a lot, actually. To give you an idea of just how far a $500 note will take you, take a look at some of these little beauties.

iPhone 11 Pro Max Bumper - $450

$450 will get you an iPhone 11 Pro Max Bumper, a slick little number crafted from Damier Graphite canvas and calf leather. Designed to accommodate the iPhone’s new triple-lens camera, it also features a few nice bonuses, including a pocket on the back for receipts or credit cards.

iPhone 11 Bumper - $450

Sleek, lightweight, and priced at $450, the iPhone 11 Bumper is a good choice for people who want to get their hands on an LV case but aren't prepared to rob a bank first. Made from Taiga leather and Monogram canvas, it's the perfect combination of style and substance. A flat back pocket adds convenience.

Louis Vuitton Phone Cases Above $1000

The plus $1000 category is where things get really interesting. Although each of the designs is unique, the one thing they all seem to have in common is a strap for shoulder or crossbody carry. Yep, wearing your phone across your body is now the height of fashion. And it's a fashion you'll need to pay for. Exactly how much will depend on which of the designs you favor. Some of the most popular choices include...

Double Phone Pouch - $1,620

The Double Phone Pouch commands the stonking retail value of $1,620. Just to put that into perspective, that's around $200 more than an 11 Pro Max. In its defense, it is pretty, not to mention big enough to fit two phones. Designed in collaboration with Japanese streetwear czar Nigo, the case is crafted from Giant Damier Ebene canvas and features a Nigo tortoise with “LV Made” written on his shell. It can either be stuffed in your pocket or worn across your neck using the detachable strap.

Phone Box - $1,710

The Phone Box is an elegant design crafted from khaki Taiga leather. A zipped main compartment and an outside pocket offer a convenient space to stow away small essentials. A strap decorated with Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram pattern lets you carry the case from your shoulder or across your body. If you want to get your hands on one, expect to pay around $1,710.

The Most Expensive Louis Vuitton Phone Case

Ready to meet the most expensive phone case you're likely to run across in a good long while? Then here, courtesy of the Louis Vuitton website, it is.

Soft Trunk Phone Box - $2,380

How does the thought of spending $2,380 on a phone case appeal to you? Not a lot? Us neither, but clearly someone, somewhere is so invested in the LV monogram, they're prepared to do just that. Apart from being out-of-this-world expensive, the Soft Trunk Phone Box is an arty affair made from Monogram canvas with reinforced leather corners. The front of the case features an embroidered cartoon animal that featured among the characters in the animated film LV artistic designer Virgil Abloh created for the Men’s Spring-Summer 2021 show.

How to Get a Louis Vuitton Phone Case for Less

Even the cheapest Louis Vuitton phone case will set you back almost $500. These days, it's an expense most of us could do without. But is there a way to get your hands on one without denting your savings at the same time? eBay is a good place to start. Look carefully, and you'll find a good range of options from between $75 and $100. Although you'll need to be careful (the condition of pre-owned pieces can vary, and there's always the chance you end up bidding on a fake), it's well worth a shot.
