We've seen a few brands throw their hats in the ring that we would have never expected to do so, including Lamborghini, Bentley and Rolls Royce. This has created some intense competition in the market and although there are still quite a few affordable SUVs out there, we're seeing an increase in the more expensive luxury versions. Here are the 20 most expensive SUVs of all-time, and you might be surprised by the brand name.

It's in competition with the likes of Maserati, Range Rover, and Mercedes, and it's only been beat at price by Rolls Royce this year. You can get a scaled-back edition for a starting price of just $64,000 but the fully loaded maximum power edition is guaranteed to be a lot more fun because it can jump from zero to sixty mph in just 3.5 seconds and it can hold its own on the road, but why would you ever want to race an SUV?

This SUV gets just 14 mpg combined fuel efficiency but that's not a worry for those who demand the absolute best when it comes to high-end luxury along with top of the line automotive performance.
