6 Popular Nude Beaches in Florida (You Must Visit)
If you love visiting nude beaches, then you aren’t alone. Many people visit nude beaches regularly, and some travel to different areas to check them out. Spending time at nude beaches can be very liberating, and freeing, helping nude beachgoers to become closer to nature.
A popular state for visiting nude beaches is Florida, which is due to its balmy year-round temperatures. The nude beachgoers in Florida feel so strongly about having access to nude beaches that they have been advocating to have even more created. They want more “safe havens” that allow them to walk around naked without judgment or shame.
The nude beaches in Florida have been touted as being so welcoming and beautiful that people travel from all over the world just to experience them.
In fact, Pasco County, Florida is considered to be the nudist capital of the world. This is true because the many naked beaches that exist in Florida cater to nudists. Some people have even reported that they feel more comfortable being naked at nude beaches than wearing a bikini at a conventional beach due to feeling accepted regardless of body type.
So, if you’re going to be traveling soon, and you’d like to visit some naked beaches in Florida, then here are six popular choices that you absolutely must visit. Some of these choices are clothing-optional beaches in Florida, while others are topless or completely nude. This guide will provide you with where each beach is located, what to expect, and other pertinent facts that will make visiting the beaches of your choice easy.
6. Haulover Beach – Clothing optional
Located in Miami, Florida, Haulover Beach is the nude beach that started them all, as it was the first public beach to be officially recognized as being clothing-optional. Many nudists who visit Haulover consider it to be a gem because of the ample parking offered, its family friendliness, and the convenient proximity of the restrooms from the beach itself.
Its location is also a major factor in the reason Haulover Beach is so sought after. Centrally located between two major cities: Miami and Fort Lauderdale, this beach sits atop a beautiful slat of white sand, which is surrounded by the alluring Atlantic Ocean. All of these attributes are what lands this beach on the top 10 nude beach lists of many naturists worldwide.
The Best Time to Visit
The hours of the beach are 8-4:30 p.m. daily. If your goal is to avoid crowds, then the best time to visit Haulover Beach is in February, April, November, and December. May-September is peak season, so you can expect to encounter more beachgoers. Even during peak season, however, you can expect to have a peaceful experience, and everyone usually keeps to themselves.
How to Access the Beach
Haulover Beach is located at 10800 Collins Ave Miami Beach, FL 33154, and they can be reached at (305) 947-3525.
From the parking lot to the beach, you can expect about a half-mile walk. If you’re not driving, there is public transportation available. Metro buses 119 and 120 will take you right to the beach, and there are also shuttle buses to and from nearby hotels.
Food & Beverages
It’s always a good idea to take food, snacks, and beverages with you when visiting Haulover Beach, especially if you’re following a special diet. In case you forget to bring food and/or drinks, there is a food truck available that offers affordable food and drinks.
Haulover Beach Amenities

Dos and Don’ts at Haulover Beach
Like any public place, especially a nude or clothing-optional beach in Florida, there are rules that you must abide by during your visit. Here is a complete list, so you will know what to expect before your visit:
- Do bring cash for parking – it’s $5 per car on weekdays and $7 on weekends
- Don’t bring any flotation devices, as they aren’t allowed
- Don’t take pictures of any kind during your visit. It is against people’s rights to be photographed while nude without their permission

- Towels must be placed over any furniture on the beach before sitting
- Don’t engage in sexual or intimate activity while at the beach, as you could be arrested
- Don’t gawk at others. This is considered to be rude
- Do wear clothing in the restroom areas, which is required
5. Blind Creek Beachside North and South – Clothing Optional
This is the second choice on the list of the best nude beaches in Florida, but Blind Creek Beachside North and South has amazing qualities just as Haulover does.
Like Haulover, Blind Creek is also clothing optional, so if you’re a bit shy about disrobing at first, it’s fine if you choose to wear clothing. This nude beach is more basic than some others on this list, but locals frequently visit Blind Creek, as do travelers from all over.
The Best Time to Visit
The beach is open from dawn to dust daily. If you want your first visit to Blind Creek to be crowd-free, then the best time to go is on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
Many people have even skipped work to enjoy spending time with nature while at the beach. Weekends typically have more crowds, so you should only go on the weekend if you don’t mind being around lots of people in the nude.
Accessing the Beach
Getting to the beach is relatively easy, and once you arrive, there is plenty of parking in a large parking lot. Parking is free, so you don’t have to worry about bringing cash. The beach is located at 5460 South Ocean Drive Fort Pierce, Florida 34949.
They can be reached at 772-462-1522. If you aren’t driving and will be using public transportation, since Blind Creek is somewhat secluded, a bus or train can bring you part of the way, but you will need to take a taxi or Lyft to the actual beach.
Amenities
While the list isn’t extensive, here are the amenities available at Blind Creek:
- Birding
- Fishing
- Swimming
- Access to port-a-potties
Food and Drinks
Unlike some of the other nude beaches on this list, Blind Creek does not have concessions of any kind. So, if you know you’re going to want snacks and beverages, you need to be sure to bring your own.
Dos, Don’ts, and Beach Regulations
- Don’t bring alcohol, as it’s prohibited anywhere on the premises
- Don’t engage in any type of sexual behavior or public masturbation, which is prohibited and could result in arrest
- Do use cameras and binoculars for birdwatching only, not for people watching
- Do respect others and refrain from gawking
- Do use towels when sitting on sand or outdoor furniture
- Do pay attention to signs that designate where nudity is allowed and where it isn’t
4. Lummus Beach – Unofficial Nude Beach
Located inside Lummus State Park, Lummus Beach, also referred to as Glitter Beach, is one of the best topless beaches in Florida, and while it is considered to be a nude beach, it’s not official.
What is an unofficial nude beach? It means that while you may see some topless women relaxing under the sun during your visit, under normal circumstances, you’re not going to see naked people there. Lummus Beach may be the perfect beach to visit if you’re just looking to show some skin in a skimpy swimsuit but not walk around in the nude.
The Best Time to Visit
Lummus Beach is popular, which is why it’s frequently crowded. Regulars admit that the best time to visit the beach is at 7 a.m. Arriving this early in the morning enables you to find an adequate parking spot as well as a nice place to enjoy the sun, water, and sand.
Food, Snacks, and Beverages
If you’re not in the mood to pack your eats and drinks when visiting Lummus Beach, that’s not a problem. There are plenty of places to purchase meals and snacks along the beach and on Ocean Dr.
Amenities
Lummus Beach offers full amenities, including:
- Wheelchair-accessible public restrooms
- Playground
- Pet-friendly
- Restaurants on the premises
- Beach chair rentals available
- Public showers available
- Lifeguards on duty
Getting to the Beach
Lummus Beach is located at Ocean Dr. Miami Beach, FL 33139, and if you need more information, call (305) 673-7000. Parking is free (if you can get there early enough to find a spot) on the premises, but if there aren’t spots available, there are nearby parking garages, but they tend to be pretty costly.
If you will be taking a bus to the beach, then take the transit line 113 or 120, depending on your starting destination. You will have a 6-10 minute walk from the bus stop to the beach once you exit the bus at the last stop.
Reaching the Beach and Restrooms
There is a 2-minute walk from the parking lot to the beach, and to reach the restrooms from the beach, you can expect to find three. So, depending on where you are on the beach, it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to reach the nearest one.
Dos & Don’ts at Lummus Beach
- Do sunbathe topless on the beach only (not in the park or outside the beach area)
- Don’t visit Lummus beach if you have children and aren’t comfortable with them seeing topless women
Unique Features
Lummus Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the South Miami area. You’re very likely to come across models amid photo shoots, film crews filming movies, and much more. One especially unique feature of the beach is its sandbar. Located only a few feet offshore, beachgoers use it to enjoy some sun while simultaneously staying cool.
3. Apollo Beach – Clothing Optional
One of the main reasons this beach is a popular choice for nudists is because of its absolute beauty. The beach sits along the ocean, inside Canaveral National Park. This is a natural beach, so it doesn’t have all the formal upkeep of other beaches, but it’s naturally beautiful.
Apollo Beach is a ten-mile stretch of beauty, and Area 5 is designated for clothing-optional sunbathers. Regulars report that area 4 is the clothing-optional overflow, but it’s not official.
The Best Time to Visit
Overcrowding is prevented by limiting how many people can be at the beach. If there is no more parking, then beach officials don’t allow any further visitors in. Regardless of the day of the week, it’s best to arrive early in the morning or after 4 p.m., and you’ll be more apt to find parking and gain admission to the beach.
Food and Drinks
If you plan to stay at the beach for an extended period, be sure to bring some snacks and cold drinks. There aren’t any food trucks, restaurants, or concessions available, so you could find yourself very hungry and thirsty, depending on how long you stay.
Amenities
- Bird watching
- Fishing
- Observation tower
- Pet-friendly
- Picnic tables available
- Restrooms
Reaching Apollo Beach
The beach is located at Canaveral National Seashore, Apollo Visitor Center
7611 S Atlantic Ave New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169. They can be reached by phone at: (386) 428-3384 ext 0
There are several parking lots at Apollo Beach, and the area where clothing is optional is lot #5. Getting to the nude area from the parking lot can be tricky, and if you park in a different lot, such as #3, you could find yourself walking several miles. To reach the appropriate area from parking lot # 5 only takes a few minutes, however. Parking costs $20 per car for a one-week pass.
If you will be arriving by bus, then expect around a 30-minute walk from the bus stop to the beach. Winn-Dixie Pnr @ Apollo Beach Blvd, Bus-line # 8, but there may be other bus lines depending on where you’re departing.
Access to Restrooms
There are restrooms available, but they’re outside and considered to be “primitive.” There are no showers, but there is an area where you can rinse off. It only takes a few minutes to reach the restrooms from the clothing-optional area.
Dos and Don’ts at Apollo Beach
- Don’t enter the dunes or you will be ticketed
- Do park only in areas designated for parking
- Do report any abuse or inappropriate behavior to the rangers
- Do treat the rangers respectfully as they work hard to maintain a pleasant atmosphere
- Don’t engage in any behavior that could be considered sexually inappropriate, or you face arrest
2. Boca Chica Beach – Clothing Optional
If you’re seeking a clothing optional beach that is natural and very remote, Boca Chica Beach is for you. Nudists love this beach because not only is it beautiful, but there is an abundance of wildlife in the area to enjoy. Surrounded by a variety of flowers and mangroves, this beach isn’t an official nudist beach, but it’s uncommercial and unmanned, so naturists consider it to be their nude sanctuary.
The Best Time to Visit
February, April, November, and December are the best times to visit when the beach won’t be as crowded. However, if you don’t mind crowds, anytime is good.
Accessing the Beach
Again, Boca Chica Beach is very remote, so if you’re not driving, there is a bus available. However, you must take a taxi or Lyft because the last bus stop before the beach is 5.2 miles away.
Amenities
This is a natural, secluded, unmanned beach and there are no amenities. If you need to use the restroom during your visit, you must “rough it”.
Food and Beverages
Due to the remoteness of the beach, there are no vendors, restaurants, or food trucks available, so it’s best to bring snacks and a picnic lunch if you plan to stay for a while.
Dos and Don’ts
- Do have a coverup on hand since Boca Chica isn’t an official nude beach, in case authorities were to show up
- Do walk your dogs on a leash
- Don’t build bonfires
- Don’t camp overnight
- Don’t possess alcohol while at the beach
- Do be careful, as there are no lifeguards available for your safety
Unique Features
Being a non-commercialized beach, no upkeep is done in the area. However, there are some unique features to enjoy while visiting this beach. The landscaping appears to be somewhat post-apocalyptic, as a portion of the road has been washed away by hurricanes.
To some, it has a very natural and calming appearance. While visiting the beach, you will also notice the remnants of a refugee boat, a lost shoe wall, and the clearest, most soothing, and relaxing natural blue water.

Nudist Etiquette & Rules
Being a resort rather than just a nude beach, Cypress Cove has a more extensive list of Dos and Don’ts that guests must adhere to.
Alcohol: It is imperative to practice moderation when consuming alcohol while at the resort. There is no outside food or beverages allowed in the restaurant or pool bar, including in the seating areas.
Behavior: The resort prides itself on being family-oriented, and children are welcome. Therefore, only family-oriented nudism is allowed, and it is expected that everyone will behave in an appropriate and non-sexual manner. Suggestive language, dancing, provocative attire, and inappropriate displays of affection are not tolerated.
Cameras: Cameras are not allowed in public areas without staff supervision or approval. Most nudists are against having their picture taken, so you should never photograph anyone without permission. You must check with the office for their photography guidelines before taking your camera out. When you’re done taking the appropriate photos, your camera must be immediately put away. No videos may be taken without staff supervision.
Children: If you have children, you are responsible for their conduct and safety at all times. You must watch younger children carefully, especially by the lake and pool areas. Children under 18 are not permitted in the bars after 10:00 p.m. You should also refrain from approaching or playing with children who aren’t yours or who are unfamiliar. Minor children are not permitted in the bars after 10:00 p.m.
Dress: Nudity is welcome throughout the entire resort, including while dining and dancing. If you choose to wear clothes, you must wear appropriate clothing or wraps and refrain from wearing lingerie, underwear, or suggestive attire.
Pets: Pets are only permitted in specified pet rooms, and there is a list of pet rules that all guests must read. Pets must be on leashes at all times and be taken directly to and from the dog walks. It is your responsibility to clean up after your pet, and pets are never allowed in public buildings or the pool area.
Pool Area: Nudity is expected but not mandatory in the pool area. If you prefer not to sunbathe or swim nude, you should use the lakefront area instead of the pool. The resort understands that women must sometimes use sun-protective tops or bottoms, but at least partial nudity is required while in the pool area. Swimsuits are allowed at the lakefront only, not in the pool area. There is also no glass permitted on the pool deck.
Pool Etiquette: Swimsuits, shirts, and coverups are not allowed in the pools or hot tubs. The only exception is infants and toddlers, who must wear swim diapers and may require sun protection. You must take a soapy shower before entering the hot tub or pool areas. Floats and rafts are not allowed in the pools.
Towels: It is important that you keep a towel with you at all times and that you always sit on your towel. This is for sanitary reasons.
Wildlife: Florida is home to a wide array of plants and animals, and some may pose a danger to you. Never ingest the fruit of unknown plants. Please refrain from feeding any wildlife, which is dangerous and illegal.
Unique Features
Again, Cypress Cove is a resort that includes a beach, so this is the unique factor regarding this nudist beach.
These are just some of the amazing beaches in Florida where naturists can swim in their natural state, topless or without any clothing at all. If your next trip takes you to Florida, hopefully, some of these beaches will meet or even exceed your expectations.
