The San Antonio Riverwalk or Passo del Rio is a popular 2.5 mile pedestrian park along the winding waterway of the San Antonio River. “Hotel to the Arts”, El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel transports visitors to 1960’s Acapulco. The hotel was built in 1962 and retains its retro vibe. Guests are welcomed by the open terrace located off the airy lobby. There are 308 sleek and modern guest rooms in the 9 story building. The hotel features Mango’s restaurant, Tiki’s Lounge and Expresso’s Café. There is a fitness studio and an outdoor pool for guest’s of El Tropicano. The hotel has 37,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Centrally located along the Riverwalk, El Tropicana is the perfect location for business or leisure. In 2014 artist Barco Vazko was commissioned to paint a 5 story mural on the South Tower of the hotel depicting its iconic history.
