Should You Consider The Capital One Venture Card?

The Venture Credit Card is a rewards card that is offered by Capital One. If you have been wondering whether you should get one of these cards then you may be interested in finding out more about the benefits that it offers. Most of the rewards are geared towards people who travel on a regular basis and so if this applies to you then it could be a card that is seriously worth considering. A more detailed look at the various benefits of the Capital One Venture Card offers can be found below.

Signing Bonus

If you spend a specified amount on the card in the first three months then you will be eligible for a bonus. These offers do change from time to time but you will be told how much you have to spend and the bonus that you will receive when you take the card out.

No Limit On Miles Earned

There is no limit to the amount of miles that you can earn with the Venture credit card. There is also no expiry date for these miles. Both of these features can come in useful if you are planning to use the miles on a trip that you will take in a few years time. You will earn 2 miles for every $1 that you spend and this is one of the best rates on the market when it comes to rewards.

Miles Can Be Redeemed For Travel Expenses

There are a wide range of travel expenses that you can meet by using your miles. These include air tickets, hotel rooms and car hire. There are no dates that you cannot travel and you do not need to book in advance. When you book your travel you can access your card online to redeem your miles. You will then receive a credit on your statement for the amount that has been redeemed.

Miles Can Be Redeemed For Cashback

If you do not want to use your miles for travel then you also have the option to use them as cashback. You can also use them to pay for certain merchandise. This makes the card very flexible compared to other travel credit cards.

No Foreign Transaction Fees

You will not pay any fees if you use your card when you are abroad. Depending on how often you are out of the country, this can save you lot of money. Most credit cards apply a transaction fee of 3-5% when you use your card abroad.

No Balance Transfer Fee

If you want to transfer your balance from another card, then there is no fee for doing this. However, there is no 0% offer on balance transfers like you might get with other cards and so this is something that you may want to bear in mind. However, if you want to transfer the balance from a card with a higher APR than the Venture card, then you will still be saving some money in interest.

Free Extended Warranty On Purchases

The card automatically offers a free extended warranty on everything that you purchase using the card that comes with a manufacturers warranty. This can provide you with peace of mind and also means that you do not need to purchase an extended warranty from the manufacturer.

24 Hour Travel Assistance

You can phone the travel assistance line at any time if you need any advice about any of your travel arrangements. If your credit card is lost or stolen abroad then you will receive a replacement as soon as possible. You will also receive help in accessing medical and legal services if you need them when you are abroad.

No Fraud Liability

There is no fraud liability with this card. This means that if your card is stolen and any fraudulent transactions are made then you will not be liable for the cost any of these transactions.

One more thing to bear in mind when you are deciding whether this card if for you is that there is an annual fee of $95, although this is waived for the first year. You will need to work out whether the benefits that you think you will receive from the card will make paying this fee worth it. If you do travel a lot then the high rate at which rewards are earned could make it worthwhile.
